WASHINGTON, March 23 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The 11th Hour Coalition to Save Terri Schiavo's Life will hold simultaneous press conferences -- Wednesday, March 23 -- at 12 noon in Washington, D.C., and Tallahassee, Fla.

This ad hoc partnership of religious and political organizations -- which will gather in front of the White House and the Florida governor's mansion -- will call on President George W. Bush and Gov. Jeb Bush to use their executive powers to protect Terri Schiavo from starvation.

"There are two people in the United States who can save Terri Schiavo's life right now. The president of the United States and the governor of Florida have the authority to use the police services at their disposal to take Terri into protective custody, restore her food and hydration, and arrest anyone who would interfere," said Dr. Paul Schenck, executive director of the National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill. "For the sake of Terri's life, we cannot afford to wait while the courts dither over jurisdiction."

Dr. Paul Schenck, National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill

Coalition Members appearing at the press conference:

-- Fr. Frank Pavone, Priests for Life

-- Stephen G. Peroutka, Esq., Face the Truth TV & Radio

-- Fr. Thomas Euteneuer, Human Life International

-- Michael A. Peroutka, Esq., Institute on the Constitution -- Rev. Greg Cox, Faith and Action

-- Rev. Stephen Cox, Gospel of Life Ministries

-- Rev. John Vandenberge, National Clergy Council

"hundreds of years of the rule of law "

just WHO is voilating hundreds of years of the rule of law, if not the judges in this case?

Active euthanasia is not even legal. Terri's "consent" is a legal fiction, to give cover to the advance of the euthanasia movement.

I think people are being too emotional about this. In the heat of emotion, it is possible that a solution is being missed. Ranting, raving, insults, and wild acusations doesn't help anyone.

FWIW, it depends on how it's put to use. Seems to me Michael Schiavo could use a dose of emotion. He seems pretty cold blooded to me.

There's a difference between moral authority and the rule of law. We have the rule of law in this country. We have separation of powers. If this is done, what will stop Big Brother from making other arbitrary decisions for us?

"They would crucify Bush"

Yes, they would try. They tried in 2000, and last year, too. Besides, if one is to be crucified, it is a good week for it . . .

Prayers for everybody involved with trying to save this woman's life! It amazes me how arrogant the animal behind her starvation has become!

so every judge is in some kind of conspiracy? If SCOTUS hears the case and rules in favor of Michael, will they be in on it too?

Do you honestly believe anyone wants to starve to death or die of dehydration? Would you like to die that way? But Terri has become a burden and burdens (like unwanted babies) need to be done away with.

Actually if we hit the streets like they did in Lebanon we could rescue her.

So True. If everyone who called themselves a Christian in the state of Florida took to the streets, their elected officials would've moved (legally) to save her by now. Isn't apathy a wonderful thing?

but to circumvent hundreds of years of the rule of law for one case is not proper.

31Then Pilate said to them, "You take Him and judge Him according to your law."

Therefore the Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death," 32that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die.

Jesus broke no Roman law, yet was put to death in order to honor hundreds of years of the rule of law according to the Jews.

I think the same thing should be done at abortion mills - Federal Marshalls to stop the slaughter.

Why stop there? How about federal marshalls stopping the sale of contraceptives? After all, socially conservative Catholics oppose their use. Maybe we could use federal marshalls to crack down on premarital sex. I'm sure the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice would have their work cut out for them this week in Daytona.

Get a grip, people.

Does anybody understand the danger here? And what would the danger be, except that Terri Schiavo might survive?

That was an abuse of power that had this board in an uprage! Is it OK to use it now?

For some, apparently, the ends justify the means.

George W. Bush has no authority to save Terri Schiavo's life. Jeb Bush may have the authority but he would be risking his governorship, as I believe the Dems in the Florida legislature would have him impeached.
