I pick up today's WaPo out of the snow, and this was the front page image:
Click for bigger.
I don't think that anyone, anywhere, could ask for better imagery. Just look at the placement it got. Even more interesting, there is not a story about the Secretary of State on the front page.
Applauding soldiers, the American flag, stylish in all black - those boots are made for walking, no doubt. I know the editorial board over at the Post loved General Powell, but he never got anything like this.

"I absolutely agree with your assessment. I am also not sure if 20% (or more) of Americans are ready to vote for a black-- male or female-- for presidente.
I bet you that's not true. You don't give people enough credit. Racism is something the Democrats use, it shouldn't be one we use. I understand your concern, but I think we'd both be pleasantly suprised by how many people really came down on the side of equality and justice.

Dr. Rice sure knows how to choose the correct clothes for the occasion. That outfit has a military flair to it.

What's wrong with the CFR? It was founded by a notorious Marxist for the purpose of bringing Socialism to America.

Well, I hope you are right. I am also a realist, that is all. Why should we expect people to be less racist than they are sexist???????????? We can run her and show that we are not racist, and then lose. Then the Witch wins. So why do we want that?
What other candidate can beat her? Rudy? Socially they are about the same... and with Hillary's new facelift on the right side, she is looking more Hawkish than ever. She might even scare Rudy....
The main thing, is that if we are not smart, Hillary will win in '08.....

Kinda hoping she starts a fashion trend with those boots. Much sexier than a pink and black pantsuit.

I won't bet on being "pleasantly surprised". We would be sickened from being ruled over by another "President Clinton". It is not worth the risk. Besides, I'm right about this. Twenty percent or more voters will never vote for a woman, which is a lock for Hillary if the GOP nominates a woman. And this is unfortunately real, we cannot know what is the number of misguided voters who will not vote for a black candidate, but they are out there (even 2 or 3% is hurts the GOP nominee). Hillary would beat Condi in the general election. That's the deal, sadly, despite Dr. Rice's brilliance.
