For those of you who missed it last night on Fox News Channels Hannity & Colmes, famed author and pundit Ann Coulter (who people often compliment for her good looks) is apparently smitten with a certain soldier. Last night on H&C, after one of the hosts mentioned Lt. Gen. James Mattis, Coulter requested that from then on the hosts referred to Mattis as Anns future husband". Sean Hannity chuckled and mentioned it as he sent the show to commercial break.
James Mattis, the Lieutenant General who our friends over at HundredPercenter are currently saluting as Our Modern Day Patton", gained notoriety last week when video surfaced of him telling a group of soldiers that its fun to shoot some people. Mattis also said that [a]ctually, its a lot of fun to fight. You know, its a hell of a hoot. I like brawling.
The statements started a partisan firestorm, as traditionally anti-war internationalists have claimed that this is an unacceptable attitude to take toward the taking of human life. The other side of the debate generally asserts that, in a time of war, this is a perfectly acceptable way to think about things when your own life is on the line. Some have accused people of taking Mattis statements out of context and, indeed, the statement is softened a bit by putting it into context:
You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didnt wear a veil, Mattis continued, according to the Web site of NBCs local affiliate in San Diego. You know, guys like that aint got no manhood left anyway. So its a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them.
Mattis is not expected to be punished for these remarks. Hes currently the head of the corps Combat Development Command at Quantico, Virginia. Maybe he should give Ann Coulter a call.
Yeah, but it ain't sportin'.
You and Mattis going toe to toe over Rosie?
"Maybe he should give Ann Coulter a call."
You wouldn't have to ask me twice...
Ann still has an open invitation to my house....whips and chains optional
sorry. I couldn't resist.
Dang, wish I had said it first.
Sh-h-h-h-h-h-h! (I agree) This is a "family forum"...
Caught that last night.
But nothing more was made of the comment. Thanks for bringing it up, I thought I imagined it.
Isn't ann married?
noooooo.. Ann is not married but seems like she has had some risque escapades and that is kind of out of her mouth but no wedding ring yet
mark and ping
Women & guns. A good combo.
Zoinks!
...as traditionally anti-war internationalists have claimed that this is an unacceptable attitude to take toward the taking of human life.
I can imagine thousands of infants who had a lot of manhood (and womanhood) left in them.....liberal bastards.
For once, I agree with you.
