... the district filed a motion on Jan. 31 to dismiss the lawsuit. The district said in the motion that there's no factual evidence to back Williams' claim that his constitutional rights were violated. The motion also countered Williams' argument that he and his lesson plans were singled out for review by Principal Patricia Vidmar because of his religion. The motion stated that parental complaints prompted the actions.

1-I fail to see where this posted in the website but it may be in the parents page where anyone can post who is a parent at Stevens Creek. The homepage actually says the following:
Parents Home Page
Stevens Creek Elementary has not "banned the Declaration of Independence"
It has been widely and incorrectly reported that the Declaration of Independence has been banned by the principal of Stevens Creek Elementary School, Patricia Vidmar, and the Cupertino Union School District. This started with a press release issued by the Alliance Defense Fund in late November, in connection with a lawsuit being brought by Stephen Williams, a fifth-grade teacher at the school. The assertion has been extensively repeated on the television and in newspapers across the country, and even abroad.
As concerned parents at Stevens Creek, we do not have ready access to the media to correct these misrepresentations. This website is our attempt to set the record straight. Misleading and inflammatory reporting in a number of places has subjected school staff and parents to over 3000 hostile phone calls and emails, many of them profane. As a result, the teachers, staff and principal of Stevens Creek Elementary operate under the protection of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's department.
We, the Parents, a grassroots organization of over a hundred Stevens Creek parents, invite you to browse our site and discover for yourselves the true face of Stevens Creek Elementary.
The website is www.stevenscreekparents.org and I invite all of you to visit it and see for yourselves.
2- To call Silicon Valley parents "simpletons" is the epitome of ignorance, Sir. I am fluent in three languages and have a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering. I am but a normal citizen around these parts and what you find around here is literally "la creme de la creme" as far as education is concerned. We actually have jobs and little time to go "blogging" so on that note and having educated some of you today, off to work I go. When the group seems to show a bit more propensity toward the educated discourse of issues, I shall come back. Until then...

If what the "we the parents" say is correct, then why was the teacher disciplined? Good question. Please ping me if you get the answer.

You have represented them so well on this board. < /sarc>

Answer the question.

Nope! Don't agree with most of the stuff there either. As my name indicates, I'm just another mom!

Yeah, just like Im-Ho-Ra, Marco Paris, and Fantasio just 'happened' to find each other in a thread miraculously while all three of them were supposedly 'googling' info.
I get the feeling that you and Cupertino Mom are not legit.

Well I think you are lying.
No- as a matter of fact I know that you are lying.
You did not receive 3000 calls from people who were planning violence upon your school or your children.
What kind of drama queen are you?
You do understand that this is a news website for conservatives.. right?
I do understand the story. You are trolling for pity in the wrong spot..."dear".
BTW- more damage is being done to your children by the curriculum supported by the NEA than any imagined threats of violence could ever do.
You only got 3,000 phone calls and email combined? HA! I guess they didn't let loose the Freepers on your little school district .... Wanna see some real numbers? Then keep this BS up.

So, explain something to me, then. If branding liberals as being "all the same" Christian hating people is ok, how come it is not ok to assume all conservatives are closed minded gun-owning, children shooting people? ;-)
To: another mom
You already did that, when you said someone was going to "come and shoot your children". That is just ridiculous.

What an interesting adventure this has been!
So, because a person is new in a forum her or his ideas are immediately dismissed as non-valid unless his or her ideas seem to agree with yours?Hmmm, interesting concept.
I see the point is just to chant anti-liberal slogans and not be bothered with intelligent debate. Cheers, then.
