Oscar-winner Michael Moore has taken a veiled swipe at Mel Gibson's controversial movie The Passion Of The Christ - his revenge after Gibson refused to back Fahrenheit 9/11. Moore was disappointed when the Australian heart-throb actor pulled out his financial backing of his expose of George W. Bush's regime and his reaction to the September 11 terrorist attacks.
The Braveheart star then refused to join Moore for a joint discussion with Time Magazine's editors, who were considering them for a joint Man Of The Year award last year. On the subject of Gibson's biblical opus, Moore tells Vanity Fair, "If I were to make a movie, it would be about turning the other cheek... And the meek shall inherit the earth." Moore added he was disturbed at, "How easily the vulnerable can be manipulated, twisted by images on the screen."
Irony alert!
I am very disturbed also by that fat ugly SOS Moore. He is not fit to shine Mel Gibson's shoes.
Proof that Moore has not read the Bible. [Not that it should come as a shock to anyone]
(Mel was even considering backing the anti-Catholic socialist Moore's projects? Never heard that before...)
Mel Gibson made a movie. Fat Mike made an expensive bumper sticker. There's absoutely no comparison either between their work or the men themselves.
I love that he is taking on Gibson. The truth is, Gibson used his money to make a film that was based upon his faith. The result is that it made huge sums of money and had a fantastic reaction among those who saw it.
Conversely, Moore used other people's money to make a distorted propaganda piece that not even he believes. It made some money, but no where close to what The Passion of The Christ made.
So, I have to say, I think I know who did the right thing in the eyes of our Father.
Yet another liberal who only knows a few quotes from the Bible that fit his leftist ideology - and its not even in context.
I guess their little love affair is over already.
You said it!
Exactly. I don't know how you could find a grander display of someone turning the other cheeck than watching Jesus be tortured to death and then say, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
Look, all the comments stopped as soon as they moved the thread. I'm shocked. /sarcasm
