Sean Hannity on the Rise or Stale?

Sean Hannity at Hannity.com

Sean Hannity seems to me to be the most ambitious guy in talk radio and on TV. His conservatism and optimism have taken him right to the top. I must say when I first heard Sean Hannity I thought, wow this guy is gunning for Rush LImbaugh's top spot, and is going to catch him in no time. He has big, big guests, always wins his arguments, and is a genuine nice guy. Then something happened - I started getting annoyed. It's not that I really disagreed with the guy, but I'm just having trouble listening to him? I don't know if it's too many charities on the go, to many books, or just that his just too nice a guy. I know, I know, this aren't really harsh criticisms, but I want to be entertained, and the entertainment value just isn't there for me. Am I wrong? Has Sean Hannity maxed out? Or could he keep climbing to the top at take out O'Reilly on TV, and Rush on the radio?

Sean Hannity  might be the only one left standing in the next 20 years, but for now, I think he's done as well as he's going to. What are your thoughts?

He's gaining in listeners and viewers daily.

Does a rise in popularity cause anyone but Democrats trouble, if so, how?

I listen to Sean maybe once a month....Rush and Medved daily. If Laura Ingraham was on live here (Seattle area) instead of 10 pm, I'd listen to her daily too.

Without Amber Fry, Scott Peterson might have gotten off.

She may be weird, but she did good with what she had to do with all this and if she can recover lost wages with a book or movie, power to her.

I can't listen to him anymore because he is constantly (and I mean constantly) giving left-wing kooks a media platform.

To use a couple of examples: In the two weeks prior to the inauguration he provided airtime to some lofting kook who was trying to create an economic boycott as a means of protest to the Bush presidency. My question is why? It only provided advertisement for this loser's cause. He followed this up last week by interviewing a women who was trying to do essentially the same thing.

A few months back when the 9-11 Commission came to New York for hearings, the meeting was disrupted by the gang of four wives of victims who had become the darlings of ABC, NBC and CBS because of their repetitive Bush bashing. So what does Hannity do? He invites them on his show so they could continue to spew their vitriol. He did this in the face of other victim's families who were trying to get public attention because they basically agreed with what Bush had done since 9-11. Of course this group (which I believed numbered in excess of 100) had been totally ignored by the MSM. Why didn't Hannity have them on which would have been a perfect counterpoint to the gang of four?

Sean Hannity is nothing more than a "useful idiot" for the left. He constantly provides a media platform for the left when they have so many others available to them.

Didn' realize Hannity was getting so much slack. Thanks for that comment. Hannity has done alot for Bush's win, and should be recognized for doing so.

He does a lot to gain conservative voters and that should be enough to satisfy the picky people here completely.

Lots of people enjoy his show. He does a great job IMO.

What makes the difference in the way Rush refers to himself and Hannity refers to himself? Is it Rush's habit of "making fun of himself" whereas Hannity doesnt?

Rush is stale, and has been for years. I admire him for his contributions to the cause but I can't listen to him for moret han 20 minutes. His cheerleading for the GOP is nauseating and he should call things more down the middle.

Hannity is all heart and means well, but is usually in over his head and resorts to sound bites as an intellectual shorthand instead of making points. "What about Rwanda, what about Pol Pot." There should be a drinking game for every time he says that - Sean should realize that raising stuff like that doesn't advance our cause at all. Sean is as stale as Rush - a GOP cheerleader, rather than an independent conservative voice.

For conservative content & brains: Medved

For conservative heart & brains: Prager

For conservative arse kicking: Liddy & Savage

For a sobering view from a democrat: The lovely Tammy Bruce - I know, I know, she wouldn't have much interest in a man like me. ;-)

Totally disagree. Sean is loved, and will continue to be. Not only that, he and Rush are desperately needed, now more than ever.

Medved is probably the best prepared, most well spoken and thoughtful conservative spokesman on the radio.

He is probably the most intelligent too, with Mike Savage and Laura Ingrahm close behind.

It's not a bash - I just find that his style doesn't provide lasting entertainment... do you?

SAVAGE RULES!!!! I look forward to 4pm PST when he comes on here in Vegas (and now on Sirius since I got my sat radio), and my heart sinks a bit whenever I hear a substitute (though I like Jerry Doyle), and or 'This is an encore presentation....'

Rush is the most talented. He's unrivalled in terms of radio skill and raw talent. It's Rush's throne to give up. Hannity gets annoying but you gotta love him for his efforts this year.

Agreed. But I must admit that it's O'reilly who is the most annoying.

Sometimes I can't get into laura Ingraham either...too much rambling about herself.

But, hey, we need to circle the wagons rather than ragging on our fellow Republicans. We're all in this together.

Sean on a bad day is infinitely superior to any Air America host's best day.

I agree - I just find Laura and Tammy Bruce to be appealing women as well as good conservative radio voices, so I let some of their deficiencies slide - what can I say, I am a sexist guy!
