To DUmmie fans, Kephra over there just dropped dead today, literally at the computer. Kind of sad, but this guy must've posted 25k+ posts a year over there. Just FYI

Jeeze, just when one thinks the DUmmies can't get any more delusional they outdo themselves again. There's quite a good deal of rewritten history they've got going on there, but that comes as no surprise.

If you read the debates in DU at the time CBS aired the piece you will find that there were quite a few DUers that did not believe the documents were authentic...
A couple of lousy Freeper trolls maybe...

The memos were never determined to be phony. What was determined was that they had been copied so many times over that it was impossible to determine they were authentic. By extension, it was also impossible to determine they were phony. That's a lie.

The memos were never determined to be phony. What was determined was that they had been copied so many times over that it was impossible to determine they were authentic. By extension, it was also impossible to determine they were phony. Why has no one ASKED to see the ORIGINAL typed memo and pen signed signature? If it was not composed on a computer, such a "smoking gun" would exist.
In the absence of such a fantastical creation, it is merely a not credible illusion.

They've completely degenerated into conspiracy theorists. Do you notice how they all sound like poetry-writing high school girls with eating disorders who've read The Bell Jar nine times? No one understands their inner self, their "special knowledge", their true worth as believers in all that is Good and Just, while they get stomped like dried flowers by the boot of authoritarianism.
They're not as much fun in post-Rathergate depression mode. Time for them to MoveOn.

Has anyone thought to send Dan Blather and seeBS flowers? How thoughtless of us! The phony memos were perfect for President Bush. They pushed him over the top.

ERRRR! If I see the "the focus should be on the content, not the pieces of paper themselves" one more time ...
Do they not see the ridiculousness of that argument? Lets say I create a document that claims a particular DUer is a drug addict and a serial killer (ok, so its not a stretch from the crowd that hangs out there, but lets pretend for a moment). I release it to the press, and now everyone is out to get him. But hey - its not the authenticity of the document, its the content. He needs to prove himself innocent of the totally bogus claims I made.
DUH - it drives me crazy when they don't understand that the authenticity of the documents and the claims go hand in hand. It makes my blood pressure rise.

AFTER the report aired, and the freepers "discovered" that the memos were phony (it was clear they were tipped off by someone in the Rove network) -- only THEN did Mary Mapes decide it would be a good idea to call Burkett's alleged source. The alleged source told that he knew nothing about the memos. [Yes it was all part of a vast Rovian network that tipped off the freepers about the phony memos.]
That is the phony memos that he managed to plant on Burkett and then get Mapes to accept as authentic and then plant several "experts"to authenticate them knowing they were phony and get veteran, hard nosed news anchor Rathto end his career in disgrace and humiliation over the phony documents.
I`m scared.

The DUmmies are a gift that keeps on giving. The subject changes, but the reaction from the ant farm remains consistently funny. Not funny ha-ha, but sad funny.

Dan Rather was fired
I believed in you, and that was my mistake. Because everything about you is fake.
Dan Rather was fired.
Are you proud of the trail you left behind? Do the cries sometimes echo in your mind?
Dan Rather was fired.
I can't believe that I fell so easily into your trap - You really did fool me.

Why are Dem media persona . . . ? Sentence should read: "Why are Dem media personae"
Singular would be: "Why is Dat medium persona"

These get funnier and funnier. No more words.

----Why are Dem media persona held to higher standards than Republicans?---- Because the media is controlled by right-wing monied Jewish interests that have installed George W. Bush as a patsy to help them ethnically-cleanse the brown peoples of the world and in the meantime make themselves richer by 1.) taxing the bejeezus (OH NO! I SAID "JEEZUS"!) out of the poor and 2.) stealing elections with the help of teleportation technology stolen by Diebold from the brilliant scientist Dr. Seth Brundle and now used by Karl Rove to teleport just enough Bush ballots into Ohio voting machines to swing the state over because otherwise they could never win elections with only their lobotomized pickup-driving beer-chugging non-Mexican-housekeeper-employing white-trash sister-marrying base from the South which by the way is a region that includes states like Nevada and North Dakota.
(Say, I think I'm starting to get the hang of DU-Speak [rhymes with "Newspeak"]. I've been reading the Funnies too long.)

Is there a good blog that tells our side of the story?
Coming from a DUmmie, this is an oxymoronic question.
