I was just getting ready to say...doesn't this qualify as SPAM?

I think you (Eric H) should at least donate some hard, cold, cash during the fundraiser if you're going to use FR storage and bandwidth to advertise for your blog.

101st?! That's a GOOD tagline :-). My stepdad was an Army Air Corps pilot before it became the USAF. He told me that NOBODY jumps out of a perfectly good airplane! But then of course, people like you have proven him wrong! :-)

I was looking at your "about" page. Nice 1911! That's my favorite too. I've got one that whacks quarters at 50 yards and has never had a lick of work done to it! People who know me keep trying to buy it and I won't part with it. I'd like to have a trigger job done to it, but I'm afraid it won't shoot as good when I get it back!

What is this a free advertising site for every troll blogger out there?

Hmmmm....Do we wait for the moderator to kill the thread?....or ZOT him ourselves? This doesn't really call for a ZOT.

Ya know...if this joker wants "hits" on his blog site, I've got a DS-3 at work, and a class C network worth of servers that I could generate hits from. I create custom network applications for a large telecom provider and I'm sure I could whip up something that would give this guy all the hits he could handle...plus some. Hmmmm....this has real possibility. :-)

Go for it!

I'm VERY tempted! ...I've got a T-1 at home that I'm more likely to use. Work might get aggravated, but I pay the bandwidth bill HERE. Hmmmm....yeah....He wants hits....I'll give him hits....

"NOBODY jumps out of a perfectly good airplane!"

When I went through jump school, we jumped C-119s.Anyone who would dare call those "perfectly good" airplanes had too much eggnog.

.45s modeled after M1911s are my all time favorites, but this one came from the factory with all the serious work done in manufacture.

All I did to it was polish the feed ramp to my specs. Great shootin' piece.

I yours hit quarters at 50, I wouldn't do any thing to it unless you feel your trigger is stiff.

I like mine to break at 4lbs; I had the factory build to that spec.

It sounds like a great idea to me.

On the other hand, why on earth do you need a T-1 at home, isn't cable sufficient and a whole lot cheaper?

HA! HA! That's good! I never thought about what if you didn't think it was a perfectly good airplane! Sounds like good enough reason to jump out to me!

Mine is a Colt Series 80. I know a lot of people prefer the Series 70s, but this thing is just plain accurate! Everybody who ever tries it plugs the target! It's got an awful trigger though (IMHO). ...a LOT of creep, though it probably breaks around 4 lbs.

Now that you mention it, I DID polish up the feed ramp a little myself when it jammed on me once or twice with semi-wadcutters that we reloaded. No problems since.

We've got a VERY nice Browning HP chambered for the .40 S&W as well, but nobody can seem to hit the target! If you rest the weapon, we do O.K. We think it has something to do with the shape and thickness of the frame, and the fact that we're all used to the Colt.

Needless to say, the Browning doesn't get used a lot, and the Colt does! :-)

It's a bidirectional SDSL 1.1mbps dedicated circuit with a 29 bit block of addresses hanging off the end of it. I do hosting and general network services support for my brother's company. :-)

....so technically, it's not a T-1. I shouldn't have said that. A T-1 is 1.544 mbps and is framed a LOT differently. This circuit I've got is actually encapsulated as frame relay between my router and the DSLAM. I don't know why, but that's the way the TELCO set it up! :-)

Love the Browning HP, wish I still had mine; I never had a problem with grip shape, but I know some people who thought it was too "square", but I guess I was used to it.

If your.40 shoots fine in the rest, but not when held, I only know of one solution; practice, practice and more practice....

Yep...you hit the nail on the head! Believe it or not though, I've created a bunch-o .45 ACP biggots. :-). My kids and wife have been shooting the ole Colt and think the HP is something less. I love it personally. But you are correct in saying that it would certainly help if I practiced MORE with it!
