Post a link to optruth.org on their blogs with a message like "Support Our Troops!" and "Read the Latest from our Soldiers" or "See combat footage here from real soldiers". It's totally honest, and it will get repukes to read all the stories from soldiers about how they don't like Bush.

Actually, you're already doing it. You're confronting the suspicions head-on, and responding. Most post-and-run's, trolls, and DUpes don't even bother to reply; they just break wind and leave the room.
Folks are reading the replies and ripostes, don't think we aren't. And we ALREADY picked up on the fact that this is a DU re-post you're sharing with us. Your only error was not clearly putting that disclaimer up. Folks here aren't mind-readers, either.
I try and keep my finger outside the trigger guard, but the temptation to squeeze off a round is big. Keep trying! But Keep it Civil.

Whenever, I read the words "Kool Aid Drinker" posted by a troll who is being scrwered over a nice warm Zotting fire, I think, "There is another seminar poster!"
The overused Troll phrase, "Kool Aid Drinker" goes well with "I have been a conservative republican all my life. I voted 42 times for GW, but I won't this time!"

I don't think you're a troll.
But accusing the known conservative activist and blogger Michael King of being one is a mighty big newbie goof.
You might want to take it easy on posting new threads...if you have something you want to bring out, add it to an existing thread of the same subject.
If you wish to mention something on DU, the best place to add it is on the lastest "DUmmie FUnnies" issue of a blog by PJComix.
(Do a "by date" search on the word "Dummie")
Professions of loyalty and table turning like you have done in post #53 are signs that many establish posters see as behavior that is similar to those that disrupt or try to convince others that they are always right.
Your posting to me personally as vetran I find to be offensive. I know that this is an established tactic of the DU. I don't need to be reminded that there are those that don't support our troops and will use their images, names, service, death notices, etc to futher their own misguided causes and Ideals... Example in point Michael Moore. Belive me those of us who are Veterans and most FReepers via the large number of Veterans know these dispicable tactics. That is most likely the reason you go the reaction that you have.
We know you are trigger happy anyway.... ;)

Well I guess making 'goofs' is what makes somebody like me a newbie...so, guilty as charged.
Nevertheless, I don't know Michael King--haven't been reading post attributions closely enough in the time I've been reading the site to be savvy to alot of stuff --which is now painfully obvious!
And getting up to speed on the etiquette around here will take me some time no doubt.
But regarding my intentions, they are genuine--I come from a multi-generational political family (true blue conservative) and it stings to get so slammed for an innocent faux pas in what I thought would be friendly zone--looks like I need to toughen up.
