Your humble correspondent is feeling mighty good right now. One reason is that I have a few brandies under my belt that are giving me a warm glow all over. The second reason is that the DUmmies are extending their entertainment value by setting themselves up for a SECOND smackdown. The first smackdown occurred on Election Day when, following DUmmie jubilation over their impending victory as predicted by phony exit polls, utter despair set in when the REAL poll numbers were reported. And now the second smackdown where once again the DUmmies being Dummies are actually celebrating the Kerry victory as a result of Ohio somehow flipping over to the Democrat side in a recount. You can see the vain DUmmie hopes in this THREAD. Does anybody know the exact day that the Ohio Secretary of State certifies the Ohio electors for Bush? That should be a fun day to observe DUmmie Despair. Another entertaining day will be December 20 when the electors vote for Bush as President. And, of course, January 20 will be an EXCELLENT day to go DUmmie Watching. As usual, the bizarre DUmmie rants pinning all their hopes on Ohio somehow flipping to Kerry are in Bolshevik Red while the comments of your humble correspondent laughing at the Dummie Desperation is in the [brackets]:

When do we know them?..Do you know when they will be done? If, after the counts are done, and Kerry gets more votes than Bush, is it over...really over?

More likely, they will try to fight the validity of the provisional votes, Blackwell will not certify any result that does not = Bush win, run out the clock, override the vote in the legislature. The SCOTUS will favor Bush on even the flimsiest of legal arguments, but they can't completely ignore the Constitution.

You have to expect they have backup plans for everything. I imagine this particular scenario was not planned for. They expect Kerry to contest and the backup plans were based on that. But they are most likely working on something now. I actually have doubts if everything goes our way, the EC says Kerry is next president that bush will give up office - something will happen.

I would expect Bushco would have to be escorted out by force. I believe they would resist. They are that crazy and self righteous. Maybe notcivil war, but something ugly.

They obviously mistake the freepers for themselves. I don't know any sane person who would set themselves on fire because they were upset about how an election turned out.
How would Freepers have handled it if the results had been reversed. We would have ranted on here for a day or two. Then, we would have prayed that being COC would have made Kerry take his head out of his rear. We would have worked keeping our country safe. But, overall, we would have gone on with our lives. Not needing psychiatric help weeks later.

How can people love their own notions over what is closest to being true?

I'm listening to Rush from today and he's talking about how the MSM is living in the past, I couldn't help but think about the poor delusional DUmmies.

For some reason, they put in my mind the story of the man possessed by Legion.

Who among us doesn't sometimes get seduced by our own notions? But when we are confronted with the reality do we not turn, however painfully and/or slowly, away from the lies.

One of the biggest revelations in my life came from a seemingly small thing. In basic training in the PT pit, the drill seargents emphasised that cheating while doing push-ups only hurt ourselves when it came to the test.

That just made so much sense to me and, believe it or not, nobody had ever warned me about the dangers of beliving wishful thinking before that.

Or if they had, it never sunk in. Maybe it had something to do with being in a stony pit at 5:00 AM. Whatever the reason, ever since I have had a reluctance to believe anything I couldn't prove to myself.

I suppose, like everyone else, I indulge in wishful thinking from time to time, but overall, life is calmer sticking as close to the facts as the facts allow.

I feel a genuine sympathy for these people but believing their own delusions makes them dangerous. It's a good think most of them are anti-gun.

Only a delusional person would turn over their self-protection as well as that of their family to an impersonal state. Especially a state that doesn't duly execute rapists and pedaphiles.
