It appears that Drudge is linking back to the Washington Post that has all the details but the Washington Post is hammered and its response is REALLY REALLY slow. I wonder why! ;)

Anyways, here is another link that has a copy of the Washington Posts site here.

Check out this Frontpagemag.com article written in early October 2004 that theorizes Russia took the WMD out of Iraq.

Ion Pacepa has been trying to tell us what really happened to the WMD all along...apparently no one was listening.

Time to be careful so close to the election. The source is highly suspect - he is under investigation by the FBI for his Iraq activities.

Defense Official Probed on Contracts

John "Jack" Shaw, deputy undersecretary for international technology security, represented himself as an agent of the Pentagon's inspector general in conducting the investigations this year, sources said.

In one case, Shaw disguised himself as an employee of Halliburton Co. and gained access to a port in southern Iraq after he was denied entry by the U.S. military, the sources said.

The inspector general's office -- which investigates waste, fraud and abuse at the Pentagon -- has turned over its inquiry into Shaw's actions to the FBI to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, the sources said.

The FBI is also looking into allegations, first reported by the Los Angeles Times, that Shaw tried to steer a contract to create an emergency phone network for Iraq's security forces to a company whose board of directors included a friend and one of Shaw's employees.

"Jack Shaw was never authorized to do any kind of investigation or auditing on his own," said one source close to Schmitz. "The agreement was not for that. He's trying to cram more authority into that agreement than it gives him."

Schmitz canceled the agreement two weeks after Shaw was first accused of tampering with the emergency phone network contract.

Agreed, however the amount of explosives is documented by the UN as considerably less than what has been publicized.

I am starting to get a glimspe of the whole picture and it is chilling.

Who would have known 9/11 awakened the sleeping giant personified in President George Bush? He was the right man at the right time.

But what was good for us was not good for the world. The UN was not amused.

A coordinated effort to destroy President Bush is emerging. A global effort. AN attempt to overthrow our current adminstration by whatever mean. Sadly, I think it is with the cooperation of kerry and our MSM. Kerry will sell his soul to be President. He sold out the military. He is not above selling out the entire country to rule this nation.

He mentioned "that ammo dump" in a debate weeks ago. Another freeper reminded us he mentioned weapons in Russia (or something to that effect). We heard him say fighting under the UN Flag is honorable. Fighting under the US Flag is not.

I don't have a wise conclusion to wrap this post up with. I am getting a bad feeling about "the big picture."

Another Freeper said that Bush chose not to respond because there are issues we may not know about which are bigger than the election.

Sadly, I think he is on to something.

No. 765-04
IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 10, 2004

DoD Statement on Jack Shaw and the Iraq Telecommunications Contract
For several months there have been allegations in the press that activities of John A. Shaw, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for International Technology Security, were under investigation by the Inspector General of the Department of Defense (DoD IG). The allegations were examined by DoD IG criminal investigators in Baghdad and a criminal investigation was never opened.

Furthermore, attempts to discredit Shaw and his report on Iraqi telecommunications contracting matters were brought to the attention of the DoD IG and were accordingly referred to the FBI.

Shaw carried out his duties in the investigation of Iraqi telecommunications matters pursuant to the authorities spelled out in the Memorandum of Understanding between the DoD IG and the Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. Shaw provided a copy of his report to the DOD IG and, at the request of the Coalition Provisional Authority, to the Iraqi National Communications and Media Commission.

Shaw is not now, nor has he ever been, under investigation by the DoD IG. Any questions concerning FBI activities should be addressed to the FBI.

Well, here's an article predating yours that indicates a growing Russian/Israeli economic and security alliance.

My point ... the World is complex. We don't know that the Russian spiriting of all this ordinance ... and perhaps the WMDs ... from Iraq didn't lead to their surreptitious obliteration, but for Russian political imperatives Bush has had to bite the bullet all these months and admit nothing. Putin's political standing took precedence to his own.

This grand master chess on a life-or-death world stage, and it appears that George W. Bush is quite the brilliant practitioner.

The Israelis, like the US, have been temporarily duped by the Russians. Thought you might be interested in the following article (it's related to your last post to me). Would be interested in your comments.

My comment? Got any breaking news on the kidnapping of the Linbergh baby?

Primakov is a typical Soviet Agent-Provacateur who was not hard to find in the 80s.

The Russians and Israelis are involved in close security alliances. Not everyone is a dupe but Freepers, ya know!

It rings true to me. Look, the advent of Islamism mirrored the advent of Communism in the "hallowed halls" of anti-Western academia post WWI.

I don't see the connection with Russia in 2004, however, and especially Russian vital interests today. The Soviet Union is dead, even if all its bloated apparatchnicks are still kicking around causing trouble and stealing wealth wherever they can.

Everyone here sees the Russian spiriting of WMD weaponry from Iraq as a threat, I think it might just be a victory in our WOT that cannot yet be revealed.
