So, Dr. Hailey created a forgery to prove that a forgery wasn't a forgery. It must be great to be a democrat and have to do crap like that.

Gotta love this neo-commie demorat party. I wish the moderate ones like lieberman and bayh would leave to show them how misguided they are.

Actually, the latest thinking is this is NOT a forgery. The professor is quite clear about how he constructed his version of the memo.
His methods are fatally flawed but he is not misrepresenting himself.

We should send this info out to every other news agency with the EXCEPTION of the Boston Globe and CBS in advance of their stories. =^D
Now that would be fun.
Look at my user profile for a list of media outlets.

YESTERDAY, the leftie site Daily Kos was arguing
TANG typewriter forensic study: they're not forged about this 'research'.
Hmmm. Wasn't Kos the fellow who said 'screw 'em' about the contractors burned alive and torn limb from limb earlier in the year?

lol you should have let them run with it so they would get B-U-S-T-E-D like CBS. The Globe is possibly the most liberal paper in the country, maybe even to the left of the LA Times and NY times.

The top line is from the CBS pdf file, the bottom one is from Hailey's attempt to duplicate the memo using a typewritter. Notice how obvious it is that the th is photoshoped on.

As one expert said about signatures, a faxed signature may be shown as a forgery, but it cannot be used to show a signature is factual.
The same can be said about the 'typewriter'. A faxed document may disprove a certain typewriter, but only the original documents show prove a certain typewriter. 'Closies' don't count in forging documents.

There's also something wrong with the "nd"s in the words "conduct" and "conducted". Look at them at 400%...they don't match.

I posted this morning that the th was not addressed in his findings even though he had 'reproduced' it. I knew his omission was for a reason but didn't have an enlargement to verify. Thanks for the pdf. It is very clear now how he forged the th.
To: mojito
No, no, no! You all have it totally wrong! These CBS documents are genuine! You see, what really happened was that the original documents were scanned into a computer, and the computer OCR'd the document into a word .doc, assigning the default font to the file. Then a fax program was used to send the .doc file.
It's happened to me lots of times when I scanned original letters from the aliens that were telling me which government officials were actually replaced by body doubles with implantedmind control systems.
