I don't want to completely stick my neck out on this, because when you hope something is true, it clouds your judgemenet (as Dan Rather has found out!)

But it appears to me that tickets are available at all the gigs for the "swing states" pro-Kerry/anti-Bush tour. Curiously, New York and New York have not been added to this "swing states" tour.

Odd. Now, this is not 1980, but it seems even the Springsteen shows still have tickets available. A bad sign for the left?

Somehow, their "call for change" hasn't changed much since the collectivists of Europe starting bellowing it in the 1830's and 1840's. It't betrays such a depth of ignorance. Hey, dudes, it hasn't worked, it's only created death and misery. Get a clue!

Even a lot of people who agree with them on issues are going to be yelling, "shut up and play some music!"

That is kind of the problem I have with this bunch.

They can say what they like but to sell tickets to a concert and then turn it into a political harangue of the audience is kind of like being invited to dinner only to find out it is actually a candle-light party.

In this case it is at least they are up front about it. So a lot of people aren't going.

But when you sell a me a ticket for a concert, "Shut up and Sing!" Or beware the flying slushy. If I want leftest politics I can watch See-BS! for free.

You're welcome. There's two other ways we know this tour is a flop:

• I read a recent interview with John Fogerty, where he completely downplayed the political aspect of the shows, saying that he didn't want to tell people who to vote for, and spinning the shows as simply a chance to see him perform with Springsteen.

• The tour was originally going to end with a massive show with all the other artists in a stadium in Miami. Instead, the finale will be in a basketball arena in D.C. The smaller-sized venue, as well as the fact that the show is in D.C., hardly a swing state, speaks volumes about their confidence of selling out this date.

I was never that hot on Springsteen, and don't even know or like the others, but am very sad to see that Sweet Baby James and John Fogerty are with the enemy.

I hear you. Never liked Bruce as a kid, don't like him now. Fogerty's the only one in that rotten bunch who ever had any talent. Then again, he's always been into the anti-war type stuff. I don't agree with him but I can be a bit more forgiving than with, say, REM and the Blixie Chicks.
