"What caused me double irritation is that Shep Smith just sat there like a bump on a log and didn't say a thing about it. What an idiot."

I have the whole interview on videotape.

When Felling said that "the memo was debunked by a font expert who had KKK ties in the past", Shep immediately responded by stating that there were a lot of other document experts that looked at the memos, too, and every one of them have also found them to be fake.

The interview was held between 3 and 4 PM today. Shep Smith introduced this guest as "a media analyst at the Center for Media and Public Affairs.

My email was short and succinct.

Mr. Felling,

Which font expert are you referring to that had ties to the KKK? Please provide evidence to back up the assertion you made on Fox News.

Sincerely,

He's in the Killa Kookaburra Klan. It's true, cuz Dan Rather told me.

The Australian connection is right, but Dan Rather got the story wrong.

From Australian's Northern Territory.

A New Zealander and his wife established a car detailing business Kiwi Klass Kars (all ornate like that). The Klan not being big in Australia (except "silly season" reporting when the media persuades some nut to declare himself to be the Australian Grand Dragon), they, and noone in the town thought anything of the KKK.

Nor did the DMV when they registered their personal vehicles KKK1 and KKK2 (and I think additional trade plates up to KKK6).

Then an Australian leftist saw one of the cars. And as the Australian left is pop-culturally American, that's when a great tempest in a latte cup occured.

Oh yeah. The New Zealander who was the innocent cause of the "KKK group in Territory Town" affair. Maori, married to a white woman.

True Story.

I'm not buying this story for one second! No liberal KKK Democrat like Senator Byrd would discredit one of his on!

The best thing the Kerry campaign can do for themselves is to get all their friends to change the subject.

Usually, Kerry doesn't change the subject, he changes the Verb. Example: We needed to defeat Saddam. We needed to ignore Saddam. We needed to fight Saddam. We needed to avoid Saddam. We needed to attack Saddam. We needed to make peace with Saddam. We needed to invade Iraq. We needed to negotiate with Iraq. Subject rarely changes. But the very always does!

The only thing that could trump this is ties to the Nazis.

We're a conservative website. Those ties are automatically assumed. And don't forget we're also bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic, mysogenistic, cheauvanistic, and greedy. Not only that, our parents were never married and we leave the toilet seat up.

In trying to research the source of the KKK claim, with no success, I came across a blog, chrishardcore.com, which helpfully posted a number of things about Buckhead, such as a profile in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution published April 18, 2002, "Lawyer's quest for good government bittersweet." Toward the end of the article was this sentence:

"He's a Southern white Republican --- yet most of his whistle-blowing clients have been black."

Buckhead, we are so proud of you! I think Matthew Felling should be forced to retract and apologize for his slanderous and false remark. How can we achieve this, other than e-mailing info@CMPA and/or calling 202-223-2942?
