THE BALLOONIST
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,
"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man in the boat consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."
She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican.."
"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct ... I have no idea what to make of your information . . . and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."
"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air... You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep . . . and you expect me to solve your problem.. . . You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met. . . but somehow, now it's my fault."
The DD214 on his website says the following:
Length of service at the time it was issued from pg 1 = 3 MO and 27 days!
It ordered him to Off Indoc Training IN fact....Everyone needs to look at this because I believe it is BOGUS! It appears to start out being the DD214 issued when his orders were changed to go to Officers Indoctrination and all the Vietnam stuff was added to it! This is so obvious, how did we miss it??? Can someone show that document here???
I looked at the DD-215. I do not see anything on there that changes his discharge status. It just makes some corrections to his medals, that are indicated on the form.
I do believe that he his hiding a lot of things.
Regardless, if he does not sign the 180, his records cannot be released, period.
My understanding is the AP suit is that the President did sign the 180. The suit alleges that the AP filed a FOIA, but the governement did not released all the records requested under their FOIA request.
That's pretty easy to explain. Kerry was a member of the Navy Reserves, and would have received a DD-214 after he finished with indoc training. It is not a final discharge and says so. I don't know what the rules are for extended activation periods--if another one is issued or what not. It's possible, though. At any rate, for normal reservists, an honorable discharge is issued seperately later. In addition, honorable service can be ascertained by other means, including calculating the number of points accumulated each year.
How many others (than Kerry) were awarded (by DD214 or ???)
the Silver Star with combat V (by mistake or otherwise)?
It is VERY POSSIBLE that he received an "other than honorable" or a "general" discharge. And then he pulled strings to get it changed to "honorable."
That is what he may be hiding.
Aren't the American people entitled to see exactly what kind of discharge this Kerry person received? After all, we are being asked by the DNC to elect him President.
I demand to know. How can we find out?
Ok! This is what I've been waiting for!
Hope there is indisputable evidence!
However, I have been left in recent months to disbelieve just about every document out there; if not for its' insertions, but for motives preceding insertions and even creations and the creators themselves.
Color me paranoid of any truth coming from Kerry's well thought out presidential campaign which covers decades of spin doctoring and inconsistencies.
Doesn't sound right to me. Individual Ready Reserve is applied to those with a remaining service committment. Fleet Reserve is for those with 20-20 years of service.
John Kerry! Answer the questions!
thanks for the .pdf but unfortunately my webtv will not download .pdf's.
if you have an html or plain text version, please post, thanks...rto
I don't think he can and would respond by; "Don't question my patriotism!"
My reply; "President Bush has released ALL his records, why won't you? Something about your discharge?"

How about Drudge Radio?
This is entirely believable - there are certain incongruities on the DD-214 that John Kerry had put up on his website that did not sound right. Dan Rather may have done far more grievous damage to John Kerry by permitting doubts to arise in the veracity of the so-called "CYA" memos used in trying to smear Bush. Once the one set of documents had been demonstrated to have been forged, believing in additional forgeries gets easier and easier.
What I haven't seen yet brought up in discussion is the DD Form 293 [pdf] 'Application For the Review of Discharge or Dismissal From the Armed Forces of the United States,' which Kerry most likely used to initiate upgrade presented to a discharge review board.
Applications must be made within 15 years after discharge.
