A team of 20 independent democracy experts
Yep them dudes and dudettes are going to be busy trying to get around this vast fruited plain and monitor all the precincts....
They've been doing this for some time now..... They had a few monitors in CA for the Gov. recall election and some in the 2002 elections...

Well, good. Perhaps they can prevent felons, dead people, illegal immigrants, paid homeless people, and other Dem allies from voting. Perhaps they can stop activist Dem judges from keeping polls open after closing time in the hood. Perhaps they can prevent union activists from stuffing ballot boxes. Bravo, and Welcome to the Observers.

Here's a piece of advice for them. Stay the hell away from my polling station.

Nice...they can go police enough polling stations to make absolutely no difference at all.

We're not a democracy.
Democracies say things like "Give us Barabbas".
Why do we need "democracy experts"?

First polling place they should investigate: the one John Zogby conducts.

I've been wanting to hold myself in a bit (sometimes I can be a bit abrasive) but this REALLY makes me mad! Observing is one thing, but MONITORING.......... WTF? Are we a sovereign nation, or not?

Of course no one realizes all they can do is watch, write down and later publish their observations. They can't interfere in the voting process such as challenging a person's right to vote.

BAD MOVE. just like allowing non us born citizens able to run for president. I'll agree with the bad move part - totally stupid, actually.
I don't think the non-US born thing is the issue that it once used to be.
I assume (never assume!) you refer to The Govinator?
I was just thinking along the lines of a young kid, brought over by his parents. Suppose he turns out to be a great politician?
Just thoughts.
