According to Powerline Blog, this was reported on FOX News:
KELLY WRIGHT: Tony, here's the latest that we're finding out on this story. At least three Pentagon sources believe the documents about President Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard are fakes. CBS as you mentioned is standing by its story...
Kelly Wright is one of the best. I have NEVER see or heard ANYTHING in his reporting that would lead you to say something like this. What in the world do you base your comment on?
By the way he is also a darn good Gospel singer.
Now they pulled THAT thread. What is going on?
I did [hear it] much earlier today, some time during the 6 o' clock hour Eastern time, but I remember being very frustrated because they didn't go into any details. The three pentagon experts were simply mentioned in passing. Then they went on to talk about the CBS obfuscations.
OK, thanks. Seems kinda like a big story though. I'd be frustrated about lack of details too.
bump
Don't hold your breath while waiting!
Wermer to Rather: Tactically stupid, bitterly partisan, and historically wrong is no way to go through life, son.
Weird as it seems, its actually correct. Search through the mountain of "official" papers released by the Pentagon at Bush's request, and you'll eventually find it. BTW, my ANG squadron/wing also used a PO Box address until 4 years ago.
Now, the other LIVE thread is back...

The National Enquirer at least is honest about being a tabloid. Occassionally they can be counted on for an exclusive.
CBS tries to project itself as objective-without bias.
That illusion has just been shot.
My guess is that the Pentagon isn't going to make a 'formal' announcement just yet. 9-11 weekend & CBS/DNC still have further to sink themselves before being refuted by the Government. They are keeping the news in circulation by having it 'unofficially' noted.
Rummy vs. Rather. Wouldn't be a fair fight. Rummy would win that 'duel' without breaking a sweat.
I just remembered my 74 year old father is hot for her too.
LOL! I don't use a tagline, but that is tagline worthy.
for what its worth the source is mentioned but not identified here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A12809-2004Sep10.html
.....Before airing Wednesday's segment, he said, CBS "vetted" the confidential source who provided the memos and concluded that "he did have the ability to get access to these documents and he was being truthful." Beyond that, Rather said, CBS consulted with military experts about Killian's language and the documents' format and compared them to other Bush service records previously released by the White House. "We decided there was a preponderance of evidence that they are what they purport to be," he said.....
BTW, the folks who made those reports claimed that Karl Rove cleaned "W"'s files, but it was more likely Sandy Berger or someone like that in the Clinton administration who actually had lawful access to them.
You cannot therefore believe every detail of the incidental elements in "W"'s files held by DOD.
So, this address using 34567 still needs to be demonstrated to be factual.
