Britt Hume who grew up with Kerry as kids and knew him very well said thaqt he had never known Kerry to have spoken with an accent after he heard his 1971 speech. This guy even wanted to sound like JFK! Someone need to ask him if its Cuba or Cuber?

excellent - it's important to get the record and story straight.

VII item: The Rood story had 2 items to add: first, the claim that beaching the boats was not against unit policy, but a Kerry idea; second, that there were other VC in the vicinity in the 'wounded fleeing VC'. Rood talks of 2 incidents, one larger one, and a smaller one that day. the 'numerically superior force' existed in the first incident, but that was not the one where Kerry killed the fleeing VC.

Very impressive. Honestly, the LESS editorialization, the better. If it can be de-fanged a little bit further, it can be a link we can send to Kerry supporters and fence-sitters who just parrot the carefully-placed talking points from the media.

IOW, let people make up their own minds whether Kerry is a liar, delusional, egotistical, etc. When the facts speak for themselves, there's no need to hammer the point. The truth itself will be enough for anyone with an open mind.

It looks like from the pdf file he was discharged in Feb. 1978? If he was in the navel reserves until then, what are the implications of his vets against the war?

I would like to see a chronology, much like this, of the attacks on the swift vets and what the true story is. If I recall right, the first attack was "they didn't serve with Kerry." That was abandoned quickly and changed to "they weren't on his boat." That died quickly after the DNC faxed out talking points.

I think it would be nice to have handy -- just like this -- a point by point refutation of everything Kerry and the media is saying to run interference on this issue.

Keep your eye out for Kerry's magic typewriter popping up in new stories. He was known for writing the unit's after-action reports, on his personally owned typewriter.

There is little doubt he forged bogus forms and resubmitted his turned down first Purple Heart months later, as his "ticket home."

The different typewriter fonts (from the standard Navy admin typewriter fonts) may be a smoking gun, if Kerry was typing up his own citations.

Very impressive: Re IX, there is the "No Man Left Behind" Kerry press release that falsely claims the other boats left the scene and has Rassmann on the wrong boat:

"On March 13, 1969, Rassmann, a Green Beret, was traveling down the Bay Hap river in a boat behind Kerry’s when both were ambushed by exploding land mines and enemy fire coming from the shore. Kerry was hit in the arm, while a mine blew Rassmann’s boat out of the water. With enemy fire coming from both sides of the river and swift boats evacuating from the area, Kerry’s crew chose to turn their boat toward the ambush to save Rassmann."
