Kerry Decides to Go After Vets After Hostile VFW Convention (Vanity)
8/20/2004 | Self

Wednesday morning, August 18:

Kerry speaks to a hostile crowd at the VFW Convention in Cincinnati (see Across the Great Divide for more):

War veterans Jere Hill, middle, from Warham, Mass., and Robert Gibson, right, from Lexington, Ky., stand with their backs turned during Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's speech at the 105th Veterans of Foreign Wars National Convention in Cincinnati on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004. Man in foreground is unidentified. Kerry received a polite if not overwhelmingly positive reaction from the VFW. But there was a clear divide, with scores of veterans sittings with their arms folded while others clapped. (AP Photo/David Kohl)

Wednesday evening, August 18:

Kerry decides to attack the Swift Boast Veterans for Truth - Kerry steamed by war critics:

Kerry reversed course Wednesday night after arriving in Boston from a campaign trip to Cincinnati. As his motorcade pulled up to his Beacon Hill townhouse, he asked senior adviser David Morehouse, communications direction Stephanie Cutter and press secretary David Wade to come inside.

With campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill on the phone, Kerry told his aides, "I think it's time to go at this."

I guess that'll teach 'em to mess with a big cheese like Senator John Kerry.

Brian Sussman of KSFO in San Francisco has been reading something Kerry said/wrote back in his VVAW days about how his generation of soldiers will 'not march on Memorial Day, join the American Legion or the Veterans of Foreign Wars...'

So you're saying Kerry is doing more stupid things to undermine his own support among Veterans and others?

Go Kerry Go!

I bet Kerry was burning when he saw those Vets' backs turned to him.

He probably NEVER got that kind of treatment in the past in all his campaigning in Massachusetts.

Kerry keeps shooting himself in the foot.

Kerry's campaign keeps shooting him in the other foot.

The article linked above, "Kerry Steamed by War Critics", still has this same misinformation"

None of the men in the Swift boat group, including Thurlow, actually served in Kerry's patrol boat during the war.

Haven't any of them actually read the book?

From the information surfacing now it appears that Rassmann wasn't in Kerry's boat either.

Does that mean that Rassmann ahs NO credibility?

Yes, he and Terrayza think that everyone in the US thinks like their circle of elite toadies and the brain-dead voter of MA. Thank God they are wrong!

He's used to it. It was the same treatment he got when he spoke at the Vietnam War Memorial Opening Ceremony.

Pray for W and Our Troops

Kerry keeps shooting himself in the foot. Kerry's campaign keeps shooting him in the other foot.

That's two Purple Hearts (under Kerry rules, which allow self-inflicted wounds).

One more and his tour of duty is over?

Let's see. Wednesday night Kerry tells his staff "I think it's time to go at this."

Thursday morning the Washington Post's leading story is about Thurlow's bronze star. Friday's New York Times is devoted to attacking the swift boat veterans.

And the Kerry campaign is complaining that who is colluding with which campaign?
