41% Said Saddam Should Be Released - "The Rest Of The Story"

Major Media Reported: A radio talk show in Iraq said there were hundreds of callers into the show, and about 45% of the callers said, "Yes, he should be punished, and punished severely," and about 41% said he should be released.

No one reported the "The Rest Of The Story."

Yes, 41% wanted him to be released, but for other Reasons. Over 20% wanted him to be released in their neighborhood, so they can hang him from a bridge or cut off his head, only 15% wanted him banished, and the rest wanted him to be free.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: Some radio callers in this morning to a radio program here in Baghdad were saying he shouldn't be put on trial.

He should be released into the streets of Sadr City; Sadr City, an incredibly tough neighborhood, one of the toughest here in Baghdad.

If he was released into the streets he would be killed in mob justice. There are many people here who want to see Saddam Hussein put to death.

Even Rush, missed "The Rest Of The Story".

RUSH: You know, folks, here's the media taking this Baghdad talk radio as scientific verbatim. "Baghdad talk radio says! Ah, must be true."

They've got two phone lines at this station. They've got "hundreds of callers" saying this or that. Yet when you get to American talk radio, the same media dismisses it.

When 41% of Iraqis supposedly call talk radio in Baghdad and say Saddam should be released, why, it's news!

"The Rest Of The Story" - 20% wanted him to be released in their neighborhood.

When they execfute Sadam, they should have a team of medical professionals standing by to revive him. "ZAP" go the hart paddels, when Sadam regains conscienceness, they can tell him "tomorrow we are going to HANG you... then the NEXT DAY we will SHoot you, etc etc

I think you are dowdifying Rush's statement. If not Rush himself, the a caller made the point about "the rest of the story." There is a lot more in context than just the obviously toungue-in-cheek quote you provide.

Yea, that 41% already has a rope ready and do not want to wait 2-3 years for justice. This is like the wild west, Iraquis are waking up to freedom and they like it. They don't need no stinkin badges

Give him to the Kurds. I have a high degree of confidence they'll know what to do.

Iraq Talk Radio. An oxymoron, prior to the removal of Saddam.

The media and we should be celebrating the fact that there IS such a thing now.
