Who's going to try to take God away next?

Posted on 04/29/2004 7:41:42 PM PDT by NOBODY_HERE

The Government has already taken prayer out of our schools; Mr. McDermott and friends are trying to take God out of our Pledge of Allegiance and our own religious organization can't educate our children, because we have to make sure we send enough money to the National and International Catholic Charities to take care of all the non-contributing, non-Catholics.

I am writing from a small town in Pennsylvania. Currently we are in a fight to save our Catholic School from being closed. We have frantically tried to find assistance in every direction, unfortunately, we are simply TOO AVERAGE to find a voice.

We are made up of hard working families who sacrifice to get their children to a Catholic school... We're not rich enough to face the surprise announcement of this closing without having to ask for help... We are not poor enough for the government to want to help... We are not colored enough or ethic enough for anyone else to want to help... We are just AVERAGE AMERICAN parents, who want our children to be allowed to learn about God.

Honestly, I'm starting to think, that if we all quit working, started smoking crack and lived off the State, we could keep this school open, get free health care and send our kids all the way through college with no problems.

By the way, we don't want anyone to pay for our children's education, we are simply trying to buy enough time to earn it ourselves.

Homeschool? I'd love to not have to work 40 hours a week, but unfortunately, even without tuition costs, I couldn't afford not to work. For as much as I enjoy my job (most of the time)I'd do it in a heartbeat, if it was possible. Right now, it's just not. Thanks for the idea though.
