Dear Free Republic Friends,
My old friend and brother-in-arms BADJOE has promised to warm the cockles of our hearts by publishing an expose (the truth about JimRob and Free Republic according to Joe) on the 18th of this month, which represents the one year anniversary of the date he last posted to FreeRepublic.com and started up with LibertyPost.org.
So, as I believe that only the truth can set you free, and based upon the stratergery of pre-emptive strike, I have a confession to make (before BADJOE makes it public):
I have poisoned the well.
By my sly innuendos behind the scenes.
By my intellectual ineptitude.
By not trusting those that brung me to the dance to bring me home.
By my biting every hand that fed me.
By my arrogance that causes me to think I did it all by myself.
By my stubborness not because of principle, but because of my lack of ability to see what is transpiring.
Evidenced by:
One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.
By this time in the June 2002 effort with a goal of $70,000 we had raised $73,000. Not because of who did the fundraising, but because the sense of purpose, of family, of comaraderie, was still present.
BADJOE rang the warning bell, but none heard.
Conclusion:
It is a sad day.
For what was once a great hope, a means of bringing together those who are willing to pay dearly in blood, sweat, and money to save this country, we all love, has been reduced to an asterisk.
So sayeth BADJOE as he promises to publish all this and much more on the 18th. He's been feverishly working on this "project" for one full year. In addition to the "truth about JimRob" BADJOE intends to further betray our trust placed in him by revealing the names of our moderators. And who knows what else?
I can hardly wait.

The problem is not about wrongs in the past, it is about wrongs in the present. The evolutionists will spam, insult, threaten and bait people with outrageous lies until the thread where they are losing is either pulled to the smokey backroom or pulled all together. Of course, once it gets put in the smokey backroom they behave even worse. That is what happened to the "Scientists Vie to break Junk DNA" thread when Vade Retro at post# 603 made a totally unwarranted, totally viscious attack on exmarine (which was pulled).
I have seen you guilty as well as others on all sides. There was a story about dinosaurs that got hijacked by creationists and it was calm, peaceful, there was no backhanded jibes about creationists.
I thought I was about to enter the new FOX series "When Creationists Attack".
The problem for me is that any topic that discusses anything older than 6,000 years old, you feel to be fair game to hijack into a religious thread. I understand and appreciate your beliefs, but some times it gets tiring to have to divert the thread to placate you.
Sometimes a dinosaur is just a dinosaur, and not an attempt by people to belittle your beliefs. I am waiting for a group of evolutionists to try to hijack a "Pray for" whomever thread by saying prayer is bogus superstition, and that it is unscientific.
I hope you can see the difference. It may be because I believe in evolution, and I am biased, but it appears to this observer that you are less tolerant of others than you expect them to be of you.
You think that could float here? Amnesty day? For banned fry?

Why don't you suggest it to the evolutionists. Why don't you as moderator tell the evolutionists that the next time one of them calls a Christian a liar for God they will get a long suspension?
Anyway, it was tried already, by guess who? ALS, who was banned as a result of it. It was the evolutionists that insisted that an agreement to be civil include the 'right' to insult people! They held up everything for a week. Then when it was finally agreed, it was not 24 hours when the insults started flying, when the baiting of ALS started, when the disclosure of private e-mails started, when the hypocrisy of outright breaking of the promise they had just made was excused, etc., etc. etc. What it shows is what we learned from the Russians - peace treaties with people who have no honor solve no problems. All they do is give a further leg up to them on decent people.
I also suggested that if the majority of those involved stand down, and some aren't wise enough to, then those who are still flailing away will stand out like sore thumbs, and everyone will be able to see who the problem is.
The flip side is that some here are suggesting bidding (FR donations) to get someone banned (or possibly suspended). That would surely make for an interesting thread and probably would raise some quick dough to boot! LOL! Of course, I'm very confident that would never happen here except perhaps in jest.
I've heard that too many times.
