[history]
Many studies have examined the "gateway" theory, that marijuana use at a young age leads to use of harder drugs as a person grows older. While there is a general consensus among studies that those who use marijuana are much more likely to use hard drugs and that hard drug users usually use marijuana first, there is lively debate surrounding the reasons for these dynamics.

Poison Ivy may be an herb by scientific definition.
But, so are other deadly poisonous plants many of which have medicinal properties and almost all of which may be possessed or grown legally. The definition of herb,a plant or plant part valued for its medicinal, savory, or aromatic qualities is the only one which makes sense in the context of the biblical quote. Otherwise, in your interpretation God would have wanted you to eat deadly poisons. Which, in your case might be true because the world would have one less fascist satanist.

So if pot is a gateway drug, then alcohol is as well. If you say so. All I know is that there is a much much higher correlation between pot use and cocaine use than there is between alcohol use and cocaine use.

I am not in the business of interpreting the Bible literally. You are. Does God command us to eat "herbs" or not?

"No, but the Bible does command us to treat our bodies as a temple"
Everyday herbs are burned in temples around the world as incense and it is noted in the Bible.
There is no reason to support this civil war.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

The linked article is available in this thread and you cited the research yourself.The linked article does NOT support your claim that "there is a much much higher correlation between pot use and cocaine use than there is between alcohol use and cocaine use." It shows comparable correlations:
Children who drink are 50 times more likely to use cocaine than non-drinkers.
Kids who smoke pot are 85 times more likely to use cocaine than non pot-smokers.

But, you demand the right to interpret the Bible for me and everyone else, playing at being better than God.
It is a duty for freedom loving Republicans to keep government from imposing upon individuals, through force and coercion, arbitrary puritanical beliefs that are contrary to established religious facts, beliefs and scripture.

"Ozzy seems to be in the same situation we first found him in at the beginning of the series; he's sitting on the couch trying to change the channel on tele which is stuck on the Weather Channel. He still has no luck figuring out that remote control! He calls for help. "Sharooon!" "Jack!!!" "Kelly!!!" This time, there's no one to help him...or is there? Ozzy gets up and walks out of the room. And cut! That's a wrap! No, really, we hear a director say "Cut! That's a wrap!" As the camera zooms out, we see a cue-card guy holding a card with Ozzy's line written on it, a full camera crew and...the rest of the family including Minnie, alive and well. Seems like everyone was there watching Ozzy finish his scene. Wait a second...is this scripted? Was the whole thing a fake? Isn't this supposed to be reality television? Once again, The Osbournes leaves us with something to talk about. "

As was his sleepwalking murder of the dog.
lol.
To: PaxMacian
Ah now you are learning the impossibility of interpreting the Bible literally. God, in fact, does not command us to use drugs. You have invented this interpretation because it suits your drug lifestyle. Abandon it. It does not help your cause.
