House Majority leader Tom DeLay, through a spokesman, says the recently introduced AW Ban renewal bills (the Senate version, or the significantly more restrictive House version) will not pass in the House of Representatives.

Law abiding citizens aren't the ones that should take time and money to convince the Supreme Court to uphold the Constitution. I say let those individuals who are abusing public office by infringing upon the rights specified in the Constitution try to persuade the high Court to allow them to do so. As far as I am concerned, we need a special commission to examine bad laws and to PUNISH those individuals who drafted and passed bad laws in the first place.

The litmus test is remarks and efforts expended on laws that infringe upon liberty and the G*d given right of EVERY citizen to pursue his/her happiness- provided such pursuit does not infringe upon that same right enjoyed by fellow citizens.

But the First Ammendmant allows you to foment rebellion and organize. A friend and I actually sat down to figure it out, the first half of the Bill of Rights is a decending order list of how to overthrow a government:
First you complain, then you organize (1st)
Then you arm and train (2nd)
Then you have a home safe from intrussion by the government (3rd and 4th)
Then you can't be forced to admit what you're doing and rat out your compatriots (5th)

All that has to happen for the AWB renewal to become history is for the House to ignore it, but that is not good enough for YOU. YOU demand that Bush beat his chest and make pious pronouncements about the sacredness of the Constitution.
