Can You Help America?
Are you willing to give five minutes or more of your time to think about a solution to a very costly problem that exists in every State in the Union?
If you listen to Rush Limbaugh on TV or on his radio show, you will hear him discuss how dumb and ineffective Democrats can be. He has been saying that the Democrats are only good at whining about problems, not at fixing problems. Rush says the Republicans are the only party that actually fixes problems. Do you believe this? FreeRepublic.com is overflowing with Republicans isn't it? I propose that the Republican FReepers attempt to find a solution to this major problem and demonstrate to America just how effective Republicans (and FReepers) can be.
In the early 1960s, approximately 62,000 illegal aliens came across the Mexican border, and the INS considered this notable and worthy of action. Now, in the first decade of the 21st Century, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens enter the United States across the Mexican border each year and the INS declares the problem too big to tackle because nothings stems the tide. Federal immigration laws state that sneaking into America without going through the INS Border Patrol stations is illegal. Hiring an illegal alien is illegal. Sheltering an illegal alien is illegal. And keeping knowledge from law enforcement as to the whereabouts of an illegal alien is illegal. With Agenda 21, the politicians are looking at every way possible to give those who break these laws a pass by granting amnesty and American citizenship to illegal immigrants. Agenda 21 means effectively removing the borders between Mexico and the US. NAFTA just opened our roads to tractor trailers from Mexico. This situation will become much worse.
This problem has been ignored in just about every city and county in America while costing exorbitant amounts of taxpayer dollars, spent on social welfare and the education of illegal aliens. Ignoring this problem also comes with the cost of an increasing crime rate resulting in too many American citizens being victims at the hands of illegal aliens. Governments at all levels, federal, state and local are not protecting America's federal nor State sovereignty,. nor are they protecting American citizens.
Why should you and I support a federal lawbreaker in our State? So an incumbent politician can get reelected with their illegal vote? I don't think so!
Matricula consular identification cards are solid identification of an illegal allien. If you can't show a birth certificate, a Visa or a green card then you are an illegal alien who has broken our immigration laws. They must leave America and reenter within our laws. We shouldn't have to amend our laws to accommidate lawbreakers! What example does that set for those who are attempting to enter America legally? Much more important: What example does this give our children? That breaking the law can be a rewarding act? If our immigration laws carry no penalty for being broken, why should bank robbery, or molesting children be punished? Do we make our laws for them to be ignored by aliens and politicians? Is a vote more precious than our standards and ideals? Our politicians must believe so, judging from their responses.
The words "protect the people" are found in virtually every Oath of Office taken by elected and appointed officials in the US, including the police chiefs, mayors, county sheriffs, state legislators, governors, congressional representatives, and senators. Sadly, not one of these officials on the public dole is taking their Oath of Office seriously when it comes to the issue of illegal immigration.
The Supreme Court of the United States has wisely ruled that the Feds cannot force state, county or city law enforcement officers to enforce federal laws (including immigration laws), and our local and state officials use this as an excuse to turn their heads on the problem of illegal immigration while our communities slide steadily downhill. Government officials continue to demand higher taxes to keep the illegal immigration problems under "control" yet we can only sit back in wonderment as they pay lip service to the problem while actually enacting legislation and policies that encourage people to emigrate to the US illegally with promises of social welfare and education benefits.
Being an American is a primarily a state of mind for all of us - being a proud American is based on the idea of freedom and self-reliance. We are all immigrants from one country or another, and we (or our forebears) became Americans by consciously subscribing to these ideas. We came here legally, we obey the laws and we promote the idea that others obey the laws in the same way. Are we supposed to sit and wait while the political class comes up with the politically correct so-called solutions that fail to keep America strong and our families safe?
How many foreign college students choose each year to stay in America rather than obey the conditions upon which they entered America? How many older vistors choose to stay at the end of their vacations? How many deported criminal aliens return using a different name? How many Muslims are in America illegally studing our open way of life, just waiting for an opportunity to repeat 9/11? I am sure we have illegal aliens from every country in this world enjoying the American lifestyle, helping to bring us down to a third world power. We aren't too far from becoming the country that these people left. The American culture can only absorb so many new residents each year without radical changes. We have passed that number. We must act now before the policical leaders offer them amnesty and permanently defeat our way of life. The time has come to stand up and fight for what we believe in. The Constitution will become wastepaper. The Bill of Rights will become a memory. Our flag will become a symbol of defeat.
If you have listened to Rush, you know the truth of his broadcasts. If you haven't listened to him, here's an opportunity for you to show how good FReeper Republicans can be at finding solutions to our nationwide illegal immigration problems.
So tell us, what should be done to fix the problems of illegal immigration in your community?
#1. Should we acquiesce and allow the illegal immigration to continue while waiting for the elected officials to address the problem in a substantive way?
#2. Should we wait for Federal legislators to compromise our security and way of life by resolving the problem in a manner that is politically correct and acceptable to every nation in the world?
#3. If we continue to send snail mail and email letters to your local and State leaders. Will the roar be ever loud enough to be heard in the highest offices? What will their response be? Submition to illegal immigrants who want to change America forever?
#4. Should we wait until you fly off the handle and lash out at an illegal alien, surely resulting in legal problems that will further harm your family and ruin your life's ambition to be a good and loyal American citizen?
#5. Should you ignore the illegal immigration problem and hope it will go away before it gets much worse?
What should YOU do?
What should WE do?
It is time to stand together to correct this problem. You are the leader in your family. Your kids look to you to protect them. If you don't help us now, will your children be able to look at you with pride or shame in five years. It's your freedom and your way of life that is up for grabs.

Many thanks for taking the time to write.

Maybe the answer is for cities, counties, and states to privitize their school systems. If there are no public schools, then we wouldn't be legally obligated to provide a public school education for illegal alien children.
To begin with, this statement is a non-sequituer. It does not follow that closing the borders=police state. Your diatribe sounds an awful lot like Bill Maher's comment about what constitutes "bravery" after 9/11. This is not hysteria -- it is a reaction to an observed and measured phenomenon.
The rest of your "argumentation" fails with very little work. The "they do jobs no one else will do" has not been true for over 20 years. The "everyone breaks the law" argument is particularly and spectacularly specious. By that argumentation jaywalking is the legal and moral equivilant to premeditated murder!
Please return to DU or come back with something better than the tired liberal whine we see in California and Mexican newspapers.
Thanks for the ping, B4 -- sorry I'm late to the party.
It's not universal, thank god. And I don't mean to say the kids are stupid. They are certainly as basically intelligent as anyone else. It is we who have robbed them of a reality-and-fact-based education and the skills needed to deal with the real world.
That 's the hole the Mexicans are really filling. They come here just as ignorant as our young people, but they work dirt cheap until they develop the skills they KNOW they lack. For example, ask any contractor. They work cheap enough so that jobs can be done three or four times, until they are "right." Six months later, they get it right the first or second time! They are not really bad folks. It's just that they ain't our folks.
They have to be stopped cold, and we have to put our own people through the process first, or this country is over, dude..
I live in Los Angeles and what will happen when the freebies run out is we will most likely see another riot. Mexicans did most of the looting at the last "uprising". I'm hoping to have moved prior to that happening.
We have an illustration from the birds of what is happening to our country!
In the open grasslands of precolonial North America, the Brown-headed Cowbird's habit of depositing its eggs in the nests of other species freed it to follow the peregrinations of the bison herds. The bisons kicked up insects upon which the cowbirds fed. Still associated to some extent with large mammals, such as horses, cattle, and sheep, the Brown-headed Cowbird has now greatly expanded its range throughout the modern landscape from coast to coast. |
Brown-headed Cowbirds are brood parasites, that is, they have completely abandoned the tasks of building nests, incubating eggs, and caring for hatchlings. Instead, each female deposits as many as 40 eggs per year in nests that belong to other bird species. More than 100 other species have provided host nests for cowbird eggs. The female cowbird finds these nests by watching patiently from an observation post where she can look down upon grassland species, by observing the nests of tree-nesting species while she walks quietly on the forest floor, or by crashing noisily through shrubbery with flapping wings to flush out potential victims. She typically chooses a nest with eggs smaller than her own and lays a single egg quickly at dawn once the host has also started laying eggs. Unlike the parasitic European cuckoos, Brown-headed Cowbirds do not evict their nest-mates, although the female may remove and sometimes eat eggs from the host nest. Instead, cowbird nestlings typically out-compete their smaller nest mates. The cowbird's range expanded soon after many forested landscapes were cleared and large domesticated mammals were introduced. These events brought the cowbird into contact with naive populations of potential hosts, many of whom have not yet had time to evolve strategies for dealing with brood parasitism. Most species will abandon their nest if the cowbird egg is laid first. Some species recognize and reject cowbird eggs, while others appear unable to distinguish either egg or nestling from their own legitimate offspring. When the egg is recognized but the host species is too small to remove the egg, the nest may be abandoned, or new nest material may be placed over the cowbird egg, insulating it from being incubated. Nests of Yellow Warblers, a frequent cowbird victim, have been found with up to six stories, as multiple Brown-headed Cowbird eggs were recognized and covered. The most common hosts of Brown-headed Cowbirds are Yellow Warblers, Song Sparrows, Red-eyed Vireos, Chipping Sparrows, Eastern Phoebes, Eastern Towhees, Ovenbirds, and Common Yellowthroats. The Red-winged Blackbird is an important host because of its sheer abundance, although the actual percentage of nests parasitized is relatively low. Although the Brown-headed Cowbird's individual host's nesting success is adversely affected, most species have not suffered population declines as a result of brood parasitism. Exceptions, however, include Black-capped Vireos, Least Bell's Vireos, and the endangered Kirtland's Warbler, a species whose very existence may depend on the continued control of Brown-headed Cowbird numbers within its limited range. In addition, brood parasitism by Brown-headed Cowbirds might contribute to the reduced success of some species in fragmented forest environments. Brown-headed Cowbirds are partially migratory, abandoning northern parts of its range and wintering most abundantly in the southeastern United States, Southern California, and Arizona. During migratory flights, cowbirds associate in flocks with Red-winged Blackbirds, Common Grackles, and Rusty Blackbirds, less commonly with American Robins and Eastern Meadowlarks in the East and with Brewer's Blackbirds and Yellow-headed Blackbirds in the West. Like other blackbirds, Brown-headed Cowbirds shift their diet at the end of summer away from insects to grains primarily in the fall and winter, foraging on the ground by walking, tail held nearly upright and wings drooping In many parts of their range, transient Brown-headed Cowbirds that will move farther north appear in early spring, followed by resident males, and about ten days later, by resident females. The last to arrive are immature males and females. Males outnumber females by a three to two ratio in adults, but in spite of this, cowbirds tend to be monogamous. Males select a "singing tree" from which to sing the typical song beginning with two liquid whistles and ending in a rapid glissando sometimes written as bub-blow com seee. This song is almost always accompanied by a " bow" or "tip-over" display toward either a female or a rival male. Another commonly heard vocalization is given just before or during flight. This "flight whistle" consists of two or three clear, high-pitched notes. Description: Brown-headed Cowbirds are relatively small blackbirds with short, conical bills; rather long, pointed wings; and slightly rounded tails. Males are uniformly glossy greenish black with a brown head and neck. The eyes, bill, legs, and feet are black. Females are brownish gray above, with a faint greenish gloss. The wings and tail are more dusky brownish with pale feather edgings. The chin and throat are paler, sometimes almost white. Juveniles look much like females, but they are striped below. Two other cowbirds range into the United States from the tropics. The Bronzed Cowbird (Molothrus aeneus), which occurs in southern Texas and Arizona, has a larger bill and red eyes. Male Bronzed Cowbirds have a hunchbacked look and bluish black wings and tails. In Texas, females are uniformly black, but they are duller than the males; the southwestern form of females are dark gray. The Shiny Cowbird (M. bonariensis), a South American species, recently expanded its range across the Caribbean to Florida in an expansion similar to that of the Brown-headed Cowbird. Shiny Cowbird males are glossy black with purple or purplish blue on the head, neck, breast, and upper back and greenish blue on the wings. The females are gray brown, somewhat darker above than below, with whitish eyebrows and throats. |
