Painting with way too broad a brush ; aren't you ? You have no idea what any of us " old prudes " have done as far as school or religious organizations' teachings are concerned.

And as far as some 17 year old's assumption, of how she's going to raise children, it is irrelivant and hyothetical . For her to lecture adults, who are parents, is presumptuous at best; especially when those aduts are not supporting an immoral nor debased position.

Then it's up to the parents to instill in their children the values they wish them to have. They must counter-act societies "evil" messages, then.

Well, when society acts overwhelmingly to impart messages to our kids that many parents believe damaging to them, they are required, out of their love for their kids, to protect their kids from those messages. I love my kids too much not to act so.

a question that has no answer...not one that will appease you, for sure.

This is ridiculous, and you know it. No person has argued this anywhere on this thread. Women have an abundance of wonderful and beautiful attributes to offer men. However, for many, virginity is one of them. Maybe not to you. So, if it's not, you can marry a women who's done the rounds.

One of the many? Somehow I never hear of a man being bothered if his bride has cooked dinner for another man. I don't hear many being bent out of shape if his bride has participated in a debate with another man. "Joe's fiancé is a real "bargain basement girl" because she plays chess in a league with a bunch of men" just isn't something you hear very often. [I used that term 'bargain basement girl' because it is one that was used earlier in the thread by a conservative to describe a non-virgin girl]

Whether you like it or not, this is a two party country.

In name only, politics is an arena where abstinence truly shines. There are many people who feel disenfranchised by both parties that regularly employ abstinence at the poles. Abstinence exercised politically at the poles has the ability to keep in check the evil that would otherwise occur, much better that sexual abstinence could ever hope to acheive.

Well, if you equate a woman's having sex with other men with having a debate with or played chess with another man, then really, we have nothing to debate. As I say, you can marry a woman who's done the rounds anytime you want.

"All kids that start off with a wild streak do not end up in the bargain basement."

They marry Prince Charming, and live happily ever after.

I'm not looking to be appeased, but to get you to think about the question.

"However I don't know how many other people have noticed that the sixties generation, at least the most irresponsible ones, appear to be dying sooner than say, members of the World War II generation. As such, the problem may be "self correcting" through the process of natural selection."

I think that certain life styles do shorten life spans.

Morales have changed in our society over the past 30 or 40 years. How society acts is a direct result of taboo actions and acceptable behavior norms.

"Perhaps the fact that sleeping around has turned singles bars into Petrie dishes for diseases that Saddam Hussein would envy, people will finally get the message. Maybe. "

I think that Darwin's Law has some validity. The fittest will survive, but those who act like animals will not survive.

She hasn't shown much compitancy in this thread.

I wouldn't allow my 17 year old daughter ( yes, I have a daughter and no, she is now an adult, so it's a moot point.) to post to FR and certainly , I would NOT let her post her picture on an internet forum.

Must be unpaid interns?? Unfortunately this is the course being proscribed by the govt. Fewer marriages, free sex, and sad lonely single 40 somethings whining about not having kids. The circle has already gone 360 degrees and is spiraling downward.

To each his own, I guess. As I said in the previous post, I'm very grateful and touched that my wife was a virgin when we married. It's something that means a lot to me, as it should.

To each his own indeed. That you have what you want and need is a wonderful thing. Far more important that a couple share a good life together than how they got together in the first place. This is infinitely more true when there are children involved. I wish you the best.

You mean, if you 'care' about a guy you've known at least three months. Go ahead. Give him oral sex. He won't complain, unless he really cares about you.

You have just hit the nail on the head. Squarly and dead center.

Some do, some don't. If you've got it so all-fired figured out, you must have made a bundle in the counseling business.

Amen. I am a teenager (19 and just out of HS getting ready for college) and I find the whole concept of oral sex to be well, not just immoral, but plain gross.

Pretty much how I felt when someone described French kissing to me for the first time. At some point I got beyond that.

You brought up the state, I didn't.

like all mystics, the state, or will of God, is implicit in your argument.

YOUR will is fiat, a sort of spiritual socialism. YOU know what is best, and others better follow, or face ridicule, ostracision or excommunication.

it is much easier to criticize others than to focus on the self.
