A video compilation of a man setting fire to a person on a public street using a flamethrower has sparked shock online.
The incident occurred on Feb 2 in Yangzhou, China, reported Hong Kong news portal HK01.
Footage posted on social media platform X shows the man continuously shooting a stream of fire with a makeshift flamethrower at what appears to be a person keeled over at a row of roadside shrubs.
Another clip shows the person lying face down on the shrubs as small flames licked along their upper body.
In a third video, a crowd of onlookers as well as enforcement officers are seen looking at the charred body. The camera pans to show the perpetrator sitting on the pavement and smoking.
He does not resist when an officer chucks the cigarette away and handcuffs him, according to a clip taken from a different angle.
According to Hong Kong and Taiwan media, the victim had been having an affair with the man's wife.
After the man was allegedly assaulted when he confronted them several months ago, he built a homemade flamethrower and carried out the attack in public.
One witness claimed that the attacker purportedly appeared calm while waiting for the police, and said he had "planned to die together" with the victim.
China authorities have not officially confirmed the incident, and no posts have been made about the incident on Chinese social media apps.

Also, every man has his breaking limit. This was obviously past this guy’s.
I think he torched the wrong person. The “wife” who took vows should have been smoking on the ground, if anyone.

Agreed. My first wife always said if some other woman took a fancy to me and I followed up, that she'd shoot me, not the other woman.
Both of them, if consensual. Most men can become homicidal if you mess with their wife.
I hope he at least lit that cigarette off the burning victim. If you’re going to be extremely heinous with no future in sight have some style about it.

Seems strange the vic was just crouched down there not reacting as he’s being set on fire.
Anyway.....you mess around with somebody’s spouse, you’re asking for it.

After the fire….. the wife’s lover also smoked for a while
My first wife threatened to run off with another man - I told her that if he could have her, he could have her - then she’d be his headache...not long after, we got divorced and I found the won=man I should have married .... my kids (now adults) call the replacement, “Mom” and call their mother, “mother”...
The inalienable right to keep and bear arms has no limit. The Second Amendment in particular does not have any restriction to the types of weapons. If it can be used to fight tyrants, it's good to go.
