Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson argued that the president of the United States should not be able to fire government experts such as scientists, doctors, economists, and PhDs, and she claimed it is “not in the best interest” of American citizens.
During oral arguments for Trump v. Slaughter, while talking to U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer, Jackson said she did “not understand” why “agencies aren’t answering to Congress.” Jackson pointed out that “Congress established them and can eliminate them.”
The oral arguments come after the Supreme Court, in September, allowed President Donald Trump to remove Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, the former Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
“I really don’t understand why the agencies aren’t answering to Congress,” Jackson said. “Congress established them and can eliminate them. Congress funds them, and can stop. So, to the extent that we’re concerned that there’s some sort of entity that is out of control and has no control, I guess I don’t understand that argument.” …

But...but...but...The President nominates them....
We need people like her to show how stupid they are
She is such a pea wit.
Ketanji is deadbeat so she loves deadbeats
yep
Basically those agencies were allowed because no president attempted to take back his power over them before. It is sort of like the fillibuster. That is not in the constitution. It exists because each and every congress allows it to exist, the courts have no say in the matter of how congress chooses to conduct its business.
But just as no past congress can tie the hands of a future one with a law or a rule, the same can be said about the president. Just because many past presidents were willing to go along with this whole “independent” agency thing, does not tie the hands of all future presidents. No “law” can take away the executive branches constititional powers, only a constitional amendment can do that.
She was installed to protect the O’Biden ticks and leeches infesting the bureaucracy. She is stupid. but she knows he purpose and that’s to make the bureaucracy the true power in the nation.
Still needs to be determined whether or not her appointment was legal.
I had a teacher back in 1961 describe what an expert was.
“’X-spurt.’ An unknown drip under pressure.”
Where does it say that in the constitution?
That statement sums up Ketanji Brown Jackson perfectly.
“We need people like her to show how stupid they are”
.
True, however...
Show her as an example to who?
The prog think she is right.
The normal Americans think she is wrong.
Half of the voters don’t think at all.
Is she stupid? BIG TIME.
Will this even be remembered in two days? Nope.
To demonstrate the overall lack of common sense, the witnesses of such a demonstration require the ability to actually understand what concept is being proven.
Kind of leaves half the population SOL, as the saying goes...
.
Idiocracy on the bench. This country is so screwed.
Can Trump fire the non-biologist? Just a little bit?
We know
Your teacher must have had a kid who got Boys’ Life, I remember that from reading it on the back page of jokes. I don’t remember too many others as distinctly.
Of course she did!
The Constitution is very clear that if you an “expert” you cannot be removed by mere Presidents.
Lol.
