Economic issues are emerging as the most important issue for voters across Virginia, New Jersey, and New York City, ABC News exit polls reveal. […]
More specifically, almost half of voters identified the economy as the most important issue in the Old Dominion state.
“…About 2 in 10 said health care was. Fewer, about 1 in 10, said immigration and education were the most important issues, while less than 1 in 10 said crime,” per ABC News. While most said the economy in the state is either “excellent” or “good,” very few said they were actually “getting ahead” — about one in ten, specifically. …

Only if you consider TDS as an economic issue.
I’ll play devils advocate. Crime really isn’t a problem for me. I live in a low crime area and it’s not something I worry about or even think about on a day to day basis. I would imagine most people are the same way.
so elect the party that wants to steal all your money , that’s the ticket
The Rs never had a chance to win in VA. First, we put up the black conservative—black conservatives NEVER win (they pick up zero black votes and depress rural and working-white turnout). Second, Virginia has been highly impacted by Trump’s government jobs cuts, especially NOVA (and non-govt contractor jobs). Third, the Ds start out with a 5- or 6-point advantage in a NEUTRAL year. Fourth, NOVA is overloaded with immigrants, many of whom are turned off by immigration enforcement. Had the Rs put up a legitimate gubernatorial candidate, we probably would have won the AG’s race.
Was watching a ton today from Baris and others. The consensus amongst one group is that Trump needs to “come home” to domestic issues. The consensus also is that the GOP without Trump is a loser. The GOP needs to recognize the Trump coalition built in 2024 and not chase it away.
Baris was not sanguine about 2026 as it appears in this election many of that coalition came home to the democrats.
Yes, there needs to be more of a doccus on defeating the left HETE
The “GOP” is not MAGA..
There is a LARGE overlap, but MAGA is not the GOP...
The GOP still has a lot of Uniparty Globalist hacks still in its ranks and have no love for MAGA but will not rock the boat for fear they will be taken out... but they don’t believe in the movement.
They liked the old corrupt elite way things were.
This is why, without Trump on the ballot the GOP will continue to struggle.
The MAGA voters who are not overlapped with the GOP are not going to show up to vote for another globalist with an R beside their name.
This has been true now for more than a decade..
this is the problem with both parties: young voters don’t give a damn about foreign politics, meanwhile guys like ted cruz are constantly america last
Eh?
Then economic problems should be way down on the list too.
That’s a fact. But take note that the RINO GOP does not struggle as it were, but is fine with their transparent portrayal of the (fake) opposition to the dismantling of the Constitution.
Economic problems should be number 1. “Its the economy, stupid”. Remember that guy? He’s nuts, but in this instance he was right on the money.
The economy isn’t all that great. Prices are sky high. I haven’t rented an apartment in 35 years, but saw some rental rates recently... wow. You can’t find a decent new car under $30,000. Its rough out there.
Then the GOP would have swept in all categories, because the Democrats are universally bad on the economy. But these were not honest elections, any more than the ABC poll is an honest poll.
So it’s the most important issue. Boy, are they gonna be surprised six months from now. Especially in NYC.
