Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) issued a Columbus Day statement alerting Americans that “we are all on stolen land” and accusing Republicans of attempting to “whitewash American history.”

Instead of actually commemorating the federally-recognized Columbus Day — or saying nothing at all — the far-left “Squad” member took to social media to instead celebrate “Indigenous Peoples Day,” which is not a federal holiday.

“Happy Indigenous People’s Day! We are all on stolen land,” Pressley wrote. “And while Republicans try to whitewash American history, we acknowledge our country’s role in inflicting trauma on our Indigenous neighbors.”

“We’ll keep celebrating their contributions, centering Native voices in our policymaking, & building a more just, equitable future,” she added. […]

President Donald Trump announced in April that he would restore Columbus Day to its glory, as it received attacks from those who attempted to “cancel” it in favor of a day recognizing Native Americans. …

When I was watching the moon landing almost 60 years ago I sure didn’t think the 21st century American national passions would be about ancient things like this, we used to be such a future oriented people.

But bring in the illegal aliens to occupy it? Is Mexico stolen land too? How about the Jews, who have been on that land for thousands of years before anyone else?

Will Rep. Pressley give up her house, and go live on a barge somewhere?

Because that would be the right thing to do.

There was never one indigenous people! We know that there were many different sects, or tribes, who were constantly at war with each other and often murdered members of other sect who they did not claim to be related to in any way. They then “stole” the land of that sect. Then a more powerful tribe came along and did the same to them. There is also nothing to show they ever claimed ownership of the entire continent. We actually have no way of knowing who really are decedents of the first people who arrived in the Americas. Columbus and his followers were really just the next more powerful tribe. People like this idiot Representative have no concept of the actual history of civilization.

The land wasn’t stolen because nobody owned it. Native Americans lived on the land and survived on it’s abundance, often moving around seasonally or when there was drought or famine. They were more interested in hunting and foraging than setting down stakes. That someone one could actually “own” the land was a ridiculous idea to them. It wasn’t until they began to be squeezed by settlers and their food sources becoming scarce that they cared about having anything like “the land.” The reservations that many of them are now on are only tokens of that.

The indigenous tribes were stealing it from each other. We just added the concept of “titles.”

If Ayana were a principled woman she would return to her land of origin immediately rather than continue to desecrate land.

Not willingly but investigating her mortgage history could be fruitful.
