Dog owner, 34, eaten by pet pugs after dying in her apartment

A dog owner, who died in her apartment, was discovered eaten by her pet pugs after not being found for days. There have been reports of dogs attacking and killing their owners, but that's not what happened here. Adriana Neagoe owned two of them and they had become hungry after she suddenly passed away.

The 34-year-old, who went by the name of Anda Sasha, hadn't contacted any of her relatives for five days, causing them to grow concerned for her wellbeing. If a person is incommunicado, it is not uncommon to ask for a wellness check. A family member contacted the police and explained that she had not been answering her phone, or had not answered the door since before then.

Officers went to Anda's apartment, located in Târgu Jiu, northwest of Bucharest, Romania, and uncovered a shocking scene. Anda's lifeless body lay on the ground, with the two pugs beside her and it was clear that they had begun to eat away at her flesh.

I remember reading a detective who said that well fed dogs will leave a dead body alone for a couple of days but a cat will start almost immediately chewing on the nose of the deceased.

This has happened before. Sad for everyone involved, including the dogs. All they knew was they were hungry.

Even they get hungry.

Which is why one of those automatic feeders may be in my future.

About ten years ago the very same thing happened. Somewhere in the US. Also pugs. And they ate their owner as well.

Dogs gotta eat too.

dogs have owners, cats have staff. If the staff doesn’t produce, there will be consequences.

So much for dog peoples’ claims that “Well, unlike cats, at least my dog won’t eat me if I die.”

From what I have heard from policemen is that this isn’t that uncommon...they told me that sometimes the deceased head is no longer attached to the body...hungry dogs will be dogs....

We used to have a few people living in motorhomes on the street I worked. One day one of the business owners realized he had not seen one of the guys in a while. The odor was telltale, when the cops opened the door they found the owner dead, and his dog curled up next to him dead as well. They said there was a bowl of dogfood on the counter.

There have been cases where the cats didn’t eat the owner either. But according to the dog people, all cats will always eat their owners.

I don't know that all cats will - is there some kind of numbers on this?

People must die with their pets far more often than is reported.

Now goldfish, imagine what they do to their owners.

My husband’s sister died, and she had been gone for three days before she was discovered. Her cats had burrowed up between the slats into the mattress from underneath the bed and were hiding there. She was on the bed. It was weird.

I think the difference is dogs are pack animals. I’ve seen cases where dogs let their owners, or other dogs in the household beat them to death, because they are in the pack.
