Dr. Anthony Fauci STILL has a taxpayer-funded security detail after leaving his $480K-a-year government job… and is accused of trying to get 'sympathy' with death threat claims

Anthony Fauci is still getting a taxpayer-funded security detail and SUV, despite retiring from his $480,000-a-year government job 18 months ago.

Now a top Republican has accused the former White House COVID advisor of trying to get 'sympathy' by claiming extremists want to kill him and he is the target of death threats.

During the publicity tour to promote his new book, 83-year-old Fauci recently said he is scared 'deep down, that there's a possibility that somebody's gonna kill me.'

But that is just a strategy to 'develop empathy and sympathy' and paint 'Republicans as creating this danger,' Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.

Dr. Fauci, who has an estimated $11 million net worth, is constantly surrounded by US Marshals whether he is at home or going to TV studios to film interviews.

Over the weekend he was spotted arriving back at his home in the Washington D.C. area in workout gear after getting out of a black government SUV.

At least six US Marshals were seen with a fleet of vehicles parked in his neighborhood

Their Marshals pin badges are clearly visible, and they are on call all times of day for when he needs to travel.

'The only other person probably getting his level of security would be the president, vice president, maybe cabinet members, and a few members in leadership in the House and Senate,'

'And he's getting this while not in government anymore,' Paul continued.

'Giving Dr. Fauci taxpayer-funded US Marshal protection after he is no longer an employee of the federal government sets an expensive precedent for future former employees,'

'Dr. Fauci was the highest paid employee who now has a very generous pension estimated at more than $400,000, Now he continues to cost taxpayers money. With an estimated net worth of more than $11 million.

Can I offer the unpopular opinion he should have security?
We don’t need to become Venezuela and have people gunned down .
Keep him safe and let the lawful process deal with him.

I don’t care how he lives his life, he can afford a detail. He doesn’t need 6 guards around the clock.

Don’t say that. He’s entitled to the security.

When a government has to provide security to protect former bureaucrats from the citizenry it is illegitimate.

I don’t wish him harmed but as POTUS, Trump should eliminate his security force as he can afford his own.

True, but it isn’t a nice thing to say. Fauci can kiss those marshals away after January 20th. He can hire his own security firm to protect him.

With all of the millions he made from Pfizer, he can afford to pay for his own security detail!

“Don’t say that. He’s entitled to the security”

how do you figure that ?

Everyone knows what he did, and also that he will never be punished

personally I think being tied down in the desert like a dog while sandflies and worms ate his brain would still be too lenient a punishment for him.

I would be very happy if his security detail was made up of correctional officers.

“... somebody’s gonna kill me...”

Every single Liberal has such an overinflated opinion of his/her own significance that they all have this ‘I’m a victim’ ... ‘I’m a target’ movie script playing in their head, 24/7

They all think of themselves as the star of their own blockbuster movie that is on that endless loop inside their skull...It’s time to step away from the TV and the movies and GET REAL!

He should have all of the security he wants, and pays for, out-of-pocket. If he gets threats, law enforcement can look into them.

--- "Don't say that. He's entitled to the security."

Interesting verb -- entitled.

As he was a bureaucrat, and as so many government bureaucrats are retired, why not argue that all are entitled to security?

How about -- when they reitre shortly -- Blinken, Yellen, Garland, Haaland, Vilsack, Raimondo, Su, Becerra, Su, Buttigieg, Granholm, Cardona, Mayorkas, Zients, Regan, Haines, Tai, Thomas-Greenfield, Bernstein, Guzman, Young, Prabhakar, and good old Burns?

And the more diverse, and inclusive, the better. What’s that dumpy female midget from the DJT assassination attempt detail doing these days? She can head up his security detail.
