The Government is to use charter flights to deport groups of people no longer permitted to remain in the State.
On Monday, Minister for Justice Helen McEntee said the launch of a procurement process for the flights would ultimately give gardaí (police) more options in executing deportations.
“The capacity of deportation and return processes are essential elements of any immigration system,” she said. […]

Internecine leftist vs. leftist summary punishment? Solves nothing.
E-Verify already exists.
Enforce it. Fine employers $10k each violation [whether Walmart or house gardener], permit private lawyers to bring lawsuits to collect fine/fees just like they do with the ADA. Committing the “in-country” crime of working without authorization results in utomatic deportation for the illegal & forfeits of any other “grounds” to remain. Remove all eligibility for state-funded benefits.
Do those 3 things, 80% will self-deport and the rest can be dealt with. IT’S NOT THAT HARD!
This is Ireland. This sudden rush for deportations has occurred after the European elections (for a parliament that can’t write laws) showed a shift away from the hard left; there’s a domestic election coming up and they are all fearing for their jobs.

Not unless the passengers are in handcuffs and strapped into the seats. Illegal aliens know if they kick up enough fuss, they won’t be returned to their third world $hit hole.
They force authorities to do what they want, or the authorities must hurt them. The authorities will be fired and possibly prosecuted even just for defending themselves. An airline crew can’t do anything to defend themselves or their plane. We live in a world where an employee who stops a shoplifter will be fired. I suspect they’ll get no bids.

The sentiment at the time in Ireland was that the majority wanted home rule rather than full independence; the leftists involved in the “Rising” were able to use the summary executions as propaganda to turn public opinion.
