Hoo boy! I made a nice drink; Buffalo Trace Bourbon (2/3) and Cynar (1/3) a splash of Angostura, and Luxardo cherries (2). Happily, I made it as if I had a friend over, so not a double, but a quadruple!
Later, I have two beautiful lamb chops standing by with a large sprig of rosemary for the cast iron pan. Fresh loaf of rustic baguette and fried young spinach.
What are you having?
Some MD 20/20, fried balogna, and cheese whiz.
Wait, no. tonight is baked lightly floured chicken thighs with cayenne pepper, fried then baked brussels sprouts (per my childrens request), some udon noodles (older daughters request) with a lienenkugels Austrian red (me only).
I have a massive apple tree that produces wonderful fruit - we have so many apples we are looking into making cider - both regular for the kids - and hard for the adults.
I actually prefer hard pear cider, but love apple as well.
Leines Red!
Takes me back to my NoDak days.
I bought a vintage ‘sausage press’ from an auction some years ago which was made in ‘phila USA’ in about 1890. I’ve only used it for making fresh polish sausage (ground pork, garlic, garlic, garlic, and marjoram) but it has a cider insert. I hope to use it sometime.
“ground pork, garlic, garlic, garlic,”
LOL!
This is a different ‘red’ from my college days - it is a
‘red lager’ aka a ‘robust red vienna style lager’. I vaguely recall a ‘red’ from the 1980s but cannot recall the name....
Two delicious Abita Amber ale’s Then a combination of honey & brown sugar ham with fresh carrot’s and mashed potato’s smothered in salted fresh creamery butter!
“Islam has NO place in a Christian society.”
Amen, brother. See tagline.
Lettuce is totally unacceptable in that sandwich combo....I believe their are laws against such!
;)
I grow my own garlic and buy a full ‘hank’ of casing from https://www.makincasing.com/ which is USA grown and processed. I can’t seem to grow marjoram in my garden.
Sounds like something Elvis would eat!
Shabbat Shalom and Happy Weekend to all!
Drake’s Best Coast IPA
I felt that the lettuce was an even worse infraction?...Who puts lettuce on eggs?
We grow our own garlic in Tacoma, WA, but it is incredibly mild. You have to use about 8 cloves to get any kick in a dish.
Thank you
When I become President, you can be my czar.
We begin bombing within 5 minutes.
Scramble all bombers with the GO code.
Destroy all Miracle Whip plants....
😜😆🧐😝😂
I used to drink Killian’s Red for a while around 1983-1984. Don’t remember who the parent brewery was. Could that have been it?
Yes, thanks - Killian’s Red, that is exactly it!
I only grow hardnecks. The scapes make for a nice stir fry. I found what i think is a ‘russian red’ at an Ann Arbor (was passing through) farmers market some years ago and have several generations of it now in my garden. I also have some german variety of hardneck. They all get commingled and I lose track.
