Cops like this should quickly see a long prison sentence. I’m thinking 10 years. Scum.

You should be pretty well set provided that you get a good attorney.

Kid’s dad and uncles should invite the pigs over for a reconciliation picnic.

You’d think that by now the cops would have realized that it’s not the first half of the 20th Century any more.

Not saying the kid is the perp, but this story doesn't have the ring of truth to it. Is the kid really that dumb that he would believe that he would be able to go home if he confessed?

Obviously affirmative action hires or their race would have been splattered all over the place.
Besides no self interested white cop wants to even talk to a black person these days.

Happens all the time. A lot of people in a bad spot like that will say anything to get out of it.

A timestamped photo of the kid somewhere else is rock solid proof. All modern phones not only timestamp each photo, but geolocate the photo. And to make the proof even more solid, whatever photo system involved will upload and timestamp the photos to the cloud server.

Four words you don’t want to hear out of a cop’s mouth. “Can I help you?”

“Look, I do not care if you offer me a five star restaurant Filet Mignon three course meal, with Samual Adams Utopias on taps and a blow job from an actual girl super model afterwards … I’m not agreeing to anything you say.”
(Then get ready to either explain Utopias, because most people don’t seem to know about it, or get harangued for being transphobic.)

It is trivial to edit metadata on photos
(i think this kid is probably innocent)
It would require proof to convince me otherwise

“A timestamped photo of the kid somewhere else is rock solid proof.”
Proof that the cops did what his lawyer, who is considering a lawsuit, said they did?
