A Washington State inmate was sentenced to an additional 24 years for murdering his cellmate - a convicted child rapist who had abused his minor sister.
Shane Goldsby, 26, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges, and was sentenced last week for beating his cellmate Robert Munger, 70, to death in June 2020.
Munger was serving a 43-year prison sentence at the Airway Heights Correctional facility on multiple child molestation and child pornography charges, when Goldsby was assigned to his cell.
Goldsby said that he killed Munger after discovering his younger sister, who is still a minor, was one of Munger's victims, KHQ reported.
Goldsby expressed his disbelief that something like that could happen, and that when he found out who Munger was, he requested a different cellmate, but was ignored.
'I had so much stuff going on in my head,' he said. 'I wasn't stable at that point. I wasn't.
I was getting to that point, because (Munger) kept wanting to give me details about what happened, what he did – about the photos and the videos of him doing this stuff.

I believe this falls under the idea of a needed killing.
Justifiable homicide. NOT guilty!
Now release him with a full pardon and restore his full rights to own firearms....

I have mixed emotions.
I say restore his rights and let him hunt down and kill more pedos. Prison time doesn’t help-they almost always return to their old ways. Look up the recidivism rate for pedos...
Shoot them or tie a millstone around their necks and drown them all! Either way works just fine for me. It means the problem is solved and perhaps if done enough, the rest might think twice. Because, some ‘people’ just need killin’!
Probably nothing negligent about it. Someone in the prison system was looking to create an opportunity for justice. DA should have nolle prossed the homicide charge.
We have a legal system, not a justice system.
It's an elaborate kabuki play to ensure that the taxrubes keep paying the salaries of the judges, prosecutors, court bailiffs, police, parole officers and corrections officers.

The fact that they refused to change his cell seems to point to a deliberate act. If so he should receive no additional time.
I guarantee you, it wasn't oops. The prison system knows exactly what it is doing.
Remember when Whitey Bulger just happened to be temporarily in a prison where there were a lot of gang members who hated Whitey.

He should have pleaded not guilty and asked for a jury.
