Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is stuck once again between a President whose support he needs to win re-election and his lifelong friendship with the late Arizona Sen. John McCain, who encouraged all to put country first.
But time and political necessity have softened Graham's public grievances with President Donald Trump. The presidential embrace has been months in the making. Beginning with golf outings with Trump, Graham now frequently takes calls from the President.
In recent months, the South Carolinian has become a close Trump confidant on Capitol Hill, an alliance that has afforded him broad influence over the GOP conference and the White House, but at times tested his ability to defend his friend McCain from Trump's harsh attacks.
During Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh's contentious confirmation battle, Graham snapped at his Democratic colleagues for what he said was the biggest "unethical sham since I've been in politics," a moment that was largely seen as a public opportunity to side with Trump in a battle that had divided Republicans behind the scenes.

An excellent observation. CNN is the anti intelligence network, part of a global network of like minded anti intelligence operators. They all work from the same playbook. They establish absolute falsehoods as objective truth and build on that untenable foundation. That McCain was a patriot is a perfect illustration. By all objective standards he was a coward, a crook, and a bully. Claiming he was a patriot turns reality upside down. Adherents of this balderdash lose IQ as a function of adhering to these beliefs.
I remember hearing about that. It cracked me up that someone was finally jerking Graham's chain.
McCain is dead, burning in hell with his idol Satan, McCain in life was a disgusting hateful human being. No matter how hard the Media was trying to cover for him...very few rank and file, everyday Americans turned out for his funeral ceremony...they could care less. McCain reaped what he sowed in his life of envy & hate. McCain was his own worst enemy!!! Graham simply sees the writing and history on the wall. Graham knows that Trump is ten times the man McCain could ever be..period!!!
