Jewish groups are criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin after he suggested Russian minorities such as Jews or Tatars could be behind alleged meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.
Putin was speaking with NBC News’ Megyn Kelly as she repeatedly asked him about Russian involvement in the election. Last month, special counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for allegedly meddling in the 2016 presidential election, charging them with conspiracy to defraud the United States.
“Maybe they’re not even Russians,” he said. “Maybe they’re Ukrainians, Tatars, Jews, just with Russian citizenship. Even that needs to be checked. Maybe they have dual citizenship. Or maybe a green card. Maybe it was the Americans who paid them for this work. How do you know? I don’t know.”
Putin’s comment caught the attention of the Anti-Defamation League. “President Putin bizarrely has resorted to the blame game by pointing the finger at Jews and other minorities in his country,” said Jonathan A. Greenblatt, CEO of the ADL, in a statement. “It is deeply disturbing to see the Russian president giving new life to classic anti-Semitic stereotypes that have plagued his country for hundreds of years.” …

And yet we have many including people on this very forum who admire Putin.
I have never viewed him as any more than a KGB thug with all that entails.

Soros is Jewish, right? It’s possible that he and his had something to do with interference.

To paint all Jews with the same brush by comparing them to Soros is even more egregious.
I agree that Soros has had his hands in nearly all organized efforts to destroy this country, but that is him as a person and his political allies.
Not Jews as a whole, which there is no other way to interpret that comment. I am sure Putin added the Tartars and others in as “padding” the same way a coded message may include “padding”.
I’m Jewish and have no problem with his statement, which is almost certainly factually true.
Maybe I need to go to virtue signaling camp and learn to pull the race card a little better, I dunno. But true is true and false is false and getting emotional about it doesn’t change a thing.

I am not “virtue signaling”. I am not Jewish, and there isn’t any doubt what Putin meant.

My money is still on Clinton, and like everything the rats do it backfired on them.

There IS no “Russian Collusion” unless one wants to shine the light on the Clintons and the DNC, because there is plenty of evidence to support that, and not even collusion.
Outright criminal framing is more like it.
But I think it will blow up in their face like an explosive cigar. Hasn’t reached maturity yet, but I hope it will.

As Americans, Putin may not be our enemy, but that doesn’t mean he is our friend.
