Puzzling me for a long time is the inconsistency between two claims by gun and Second Amendment supporters. One is that what they worship is critically needed to defend themselves against a government that they would view as oppressive and unacceptable. The other is their belief that the US government has already become awful, stealing their liberties.
Why then, I keep asking myself, have we not seen a violent uprising among the untold millions of Americans owning guns to take back their government? Why do we not see what goes on in European nations, namely violent public uprisings against governments?
There is more private gun ownership in the US than any other nation. We have a far right part of the population with considerable public presence and power. FOX News, the Tea Party movement, and countless groups and think tanks angrily attacking the mainstream media, liberals, and leftist politicians as well as just about everything done by President Obama.
So, why hasnt the massive number of gun nuts who keep expressing their love of the Second Amendment actually done what they claim is exactly needed, what the Second Amendment was created to give them the right to do, and what their massive gun power supposedly gives them the means to accomplish? Especially when they lose major elections, when their Republican and conservative politicians fail to deliver to them?
Are the paranoid doom and gloom gun nuts waiting for things to get a whole lot worse before they actually implement the grand plan to use their guns to overthrow what they see as an evil, unconstitutional and oppressive government?
From their perspective, how much worse does the government have to become before they finally get the courage to use their guns and restore American democracy and liberties?(continued)

Im not sure what the go signal will be either, but some will notice it before others.
America is still in that awkward in-between age. But the left is working hard to push us over the edge.
We’re smarter than they are and have a far greater respect for the American ideal which makes us unwilling to throw it away to get what we want.
We’re certainly not going to be goaded into a fight by this clown.
That’s it.
I wonder IF and HOW MANY will recognize Obama’s reichstag fire.
I’d say it was because most thinking people understand that the next civil war will be a terrible affair. Our society still bears scars from the last one, 150 years ago. One does not undertake such a thing lightly.
Man, those leftists REALLY dig calling for the deaths of their enemies.
But, yeah, it's okay when they do it because they're all about peace, love, etc.
It would seem that most Americans are not arming up just to obey any orders from the government to register, turn in, store in an armory, etc, their best self-defense against tyranny.
The way its looking now it will start like it did the last two time there was massive armed resistance on US soil. Both times the trigger was when they came to confiscate the people’s firearms.
They cannot bring about Bill Ayer’s goal of killing 25 million Americans unless we cannot fight back.
Yup and the left desperately wants to goad us into a fight for a reason. Our challenge is to refuse to let them do it so we can fight them smart and on our terms.
If you look at the way things are going within the individual states, the future isn’t looking so hot for the democrats. Republicans hold all 3 branches of government in 23 or 24 states and the democrats hold all 3 branches in 13 states. The trend is not looking good for the democrats at all.
It is not time yet.
The parameters have not been set.
I have the opinion that some folks are waiting for the “low-inforamtion” crowd, to bubble over and foment, thereby, it would be in response, not in aggression, with the same sort of outcome, or so I’ve heard.
“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”
You don't lightly throw your country into a civil war.
It’s called keeping our power dry, and I think it’s still wise for now.
I also think it will obvious when it’s no longer wise, and I think they’re pushing to wards that point as I type.
I’m starting to think it happened in Connecticut just recently.
I think this gentleman is confused about what the word libertarian means. Either that or it is end times, with black meaning white, up meaning down and libertarian meaning gun-confiscating commie.
"Skin me, Br'er Fox, snatch out my eyeballs, tear out my ears by the roots, and cut off my legs, but do please, Br'er Fox, don't fling me in that briar patch!" Br'er Rabbit
I've said this before and I'll say it again, despite all the bluster and chest thumping by the keyboard commandos, we won't ever see one as long as the thumpers have jobs, mortgages, payments on their new Dodge Ram 1500's and families to provide for..........
God forbid, if we have a ‘next one’ within the next month, that will certainly do it.
‘Why do we not see what goes on in European nations, namely violent public uprisings against governments? ‘
Huh??? Have I missed something?
What public uprisings in Europe?
Is this author referring to the uprisings in the MidEast and northern Africa?
These uprisings were inspired by the Muslim Brotherhood in an effort to overthrow the current governments.
Some people must write just to hear themselves think.
What we are all waiting for is a George Washington.
