I already have. Notre Dame would not have had the success it has had this year without Manti. There could be no more inspirational, nor “influential” player on any team.
Explain the waste of putting Woodson over Manning in 1997.
Total politics. Manning still wins. The Heisman is crap. Might as well give out a world award. Oh wait.....
ALA. will rock ND. If they think USC was tough, January is going to hurt.
I haven’t heard about his arrest record. But that’s a separate issue not pertinent to this question. Two subpar nonconf opponents is to be expected. How many previous Heisman winners played smaller college programs early in the season??
LBs have the butkus award and its a great one. I wouldn’t be against the award going to a Def player or even an O lineman if he clearly was the best player in football. But aside from the “want” to give him the award and his irrelevant “storybook” qualities, his contribution to the team is not equal to Manziel’s for the reasons already given.
He won.
Reggie White should have took the H.
Didn’t happen
F that trophy
Yeah, I have heard it all before. See you in Miami.
I don’t waste money. Good Luck.
He had one big game. Two losses. Padded numbers against tiny schools. And the arrest record “not pertinent” to the Heisman? Character issues don’t matter? Tell that to Reggie Bush.
Quit barking up the wrong tree.
Tell me Woodson’s record vs Manning
name first second third ballots points Projected % J Manziel 11 1 2 14 37 1785 64.1% C Klein 1 1 8 10 13 891 32.0% M Te'o 4 6 2 12 26 684 24.6%
In a just world, Manti Teo would get the award. He won’t, and the Heisman people should stop pretending that the award is for anything other than offensive backs.
Obviously you shoot 5,000 to the underdog. Right
Good Luck HR
I don’t know squat about his history with the cops. I just know that he has done more to help TAMU win than has LB guy for ND.
And by the way, had Oklahoma not had so many people running the ball, MacDonald wouldve been more competitive against PH in the voting! Its a well known fact that ND poisoned OU’s food the night before the game, nov 15, 1957. Did Hornung win in ‘56? The year OU beat them 40-0 without the aid of food poisoning?
LB guy needs a few less tattoos. Smacks of bad character. Body is a temple made. In God’s image, ya know. Especially at a Catholic school.
I’m just getting your bp up. I predict Manziel will win the Heisman and Alabama will win the game. But that doesn’t mean LB guy isn’t any good.
After the world screwed Manning for woodson what the hell to you expect.
Manti Te’o will win in a walk, other than probation Ohio State 12-0 they are the only undefeated team in the country. Notre Dame has alumni and huge fan base, Te’o is a big reason for ND being in Miami for BCS championship.
Johnny Football got his but kicked by LSU, who intercepted him, roughed him up and beat his team. Besides all that he is only a freshman. Teo is undefeated.
There’s something fundamentally wrong about naming a school the Poets. Where are the people that did that now? Laughing from beyond. At Oregon we called our Ducks the “Fighting Ducks”...give me a break. When was the last time you ever saw a duck fight? They would have been better calling them the fighting geese...at least a goose will try to bite you once in a while.

Anyone recall Tommy Nobis from the Univ. of TX who went on to star with the Atlanta team in the NFL? Didn’t he win a national award (maybe Butkis?).
How many sub-par opponents has ND played for decades while being independant and not associated with any conference?; LOTS! That’s the only reason they occasionally rise in the rankings from year to year; they set up games with weaker teams throughout the seasons to ensure they will have a winning record.
My vote is for Johnny Football.
