Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
Nice.
You made my decision easy.
Such hatred they have.
Hey, lady... know where a joe can find a good pitchfork and a pair of torches around here...? ;)
We noticed an uneveness in the moderating on certain days, especially weekends. Don't know when the regular RM was off, but I have no problem with the current RM and his moderating when he is available.
Kudos to the regular RM for listening to all sides and attempting to show equality to all.
Sorry for the messed up grammar and formatting. Posted from my iPhone.
Where’s mcgreevy been these days I wonder...
I’d just like an explanation of what motivates an individual to decide and then expose FReepers to gratuitous cheap shots outside of the RF.
The personal attacks, ad hominems and outright vile accusations endured because one or more individuals who “thought” the same way, decided it was “deserved”.
What motivates an individual to decide on their own that FReepers “deserve” to be flamed for posting theological material that is in disagreement with another’s religion?
Especially when that religion fired the first shots in the “war” by calling all Christians apostates, etc.
This “revelation” now has me questioning the integrity of any moderator in moderating a forum.
The “regular” RM has always left me with the impression that they’re even handed and fair and I appreciate the consistency.
But how is one to know when the “regular” RM is on the board vs. a substitute moderator who thinks those of us perjoratively described as “anti-mormons” deserve to be flamed?
I agree.
The concerned conservatives feel that in a close election the ex-Mormons could lose the country for us and that they'd be okay with that because it would be better than a Mormon president. The concerned conservatives are not okay with that.
Both sides are suspicious that the other side may just be your garden variety Democrat wearing a mask. That the concerned conservatives are "Mitt-Bots" or "RINOS" is insulting, disgusting and infuriating.
Apparently it has been decided that Free Republic can do fine without the concerned conservatives or any conservatives who question or challenge the ex-Mormons.
Congratulations, ex-Mormons. You win.

***Luck of the draw.
What Free Republic needs is a mediation thread. The Moderator takes the offending posts over to the mediation thread, there is an open hashout about which posts will be allowed and which will be thrown out, and then the decision is made. Out in the open. The current situation allows different mods to run their own agenda. That’s okay if it agrees with JimRob’s agenda, but how are we to know if it’s all done in secret & JimRob doesn’t have the time to chase down every mod decision or questionable post?
That is how it will go over in the larger world beyond this forum.

Kid the Mormon world is not that big...
The Mormons claim 6 Million members in the US but as they carry members on their rolls until age 110, long after they are dead and many people have escaped from the “Mormon world” and since only 15% of them are card carrying temple Mormons then there are only 900,000 or less than 1 Million real Mormons in the US “Mormon world”...
Thats a small less than 1% of the US as a whole...
There are more Moslems in the US even if you did want to us that pumped up 6 Million members figure for the Mormons...
I dont think they would take kindly to being considered part of your Mormon world...
and then there are all the Christians who would readily denounce the idea of a so called “Mormon world”
So I wouldnt be concerned about “world” opinion effecting the forum too adversely...
Indeed most would yawn and say What ???
Yup. I guess I’m getting old as I now have several prescriptions that I have to take daily for diabetes, circulation, cholesterol and heart. Also a monthly injection to help build up my blood or keep it within the normal range. Plus, I take over the counter iron, vitamins and calcium tablets daily. No (or very little) sugar. Reduced fats. Watch the starches. No beer or alcohol (quit that about 20 years ago). No tobacco (quit that over 40 years ago). No illegal or recreational drugs (never did drugs). Lots of coffee and diet cola. And all of my various levels that they are monitoring via bi-monthly or quarterly blood tests have been within the normal ranges for well over a year, so I guess the drugs are working. Blood pressure and oxygen levels fine too. The only thing is my pulse rate is always a bit high. Wonder why?
That the concerned conservatives are “Mitt-Bots” or “RINOS” is insulting, disgusting and infuriating.
***Uh Huh, yeah right. The Principled Conservatives are being called “pro-obama” and stupid. And among those principled conservatives is the owner of the website. There are dozens of active attempts to separate principled conservatives from their conservative principles to vote for a lying baby-killing librul statist. Such activity is not conservative. It would be better for the concerned conservatives to actively convert 0bots to mittbots rather than continue to sow discord on this conservative website.
Besides your typical and all too normal personal attacks against us ex-mormons who choose to expose the doctrine, you now throw up a strawman about the election. You call yourself a “concerned conservative”. All in the mame of casting more stones at those of us you have some grudge with. Fail.
This moderator made it his personal mission to “punish” FReepers, thought police if you will. Using personal attacks, ad hominems, and vile, unsupported accusations is not “questioning or challenging” ex-mormons. I’ve not seen you or any of your cabal once actually attempt to rebut any information posted by an ex-mormon.
It’s all designed to do one thing and one thing only, destroy the credibility of the poster. Something you and many of your other shills have developed a penchant for.
No one I know of is looking to “win”, get it through that obtuse skull of yours. Debating the doctrines on the RF used to be an exercise in diligence, learning and patience.
But when one is constantly forced to defend themselves against the Alinsky Brigade present on FR and then have a mole in the moderator’s break room helping them out, the integrity is lost.
No Deb, the Alinsky Brigade was “winning”, but like all rat infestations, they usually get to bold and come out into the light of day and get caught.
No Deb, there are no “winners” here.
We will continue moderating FR that way we have been for all these years. Anyone who doesn’t like it or doesn’t trust us is free to post elsewhere. Thanks.
Well, thanks for considering my suggestion based upon bibilical principles of keeping things in the light.
HAHA! “sewing discord”??!!! What are you doing, stand-up? Its obvious who the discord seamstresses are. But, hey, you guys won, what are you still bitching and whining about? You should be celebrating all the good people you got tossed. All the moderators who stepped down. Have a party. Get t-shirts. Invent a handshake. But don’t lecture me about the “owner of the website”.
You’re very welcome.
But when one is constantly forced to defend themselves against the Alinsky Brigade present on FR and then have a mole in the moderators break room helping them out, the integrity is lost.... there are no winners here.
***Yup. At least it did come to the light this time. Of course, as JimRob says if you don’t trust the mods here, you can post elsewhere. I hope that does not happen with the folks who have been exposing cults here on FR. We should all pray that integrity would be regained.
