R.I.P. Christopher Hitchens
December 15, 2011 11:51 P.M. By Daniel Foster Vanity Fair reports that Christopher Hitchens has passed away. Often frustrating, usually provocative, always brilliant. He added to the culture, and the conversation.
Im sure I join many in hoping he is in for a glorious, glorious surprise.

RIP
I liked the guy.
I did like him ....off the wall at times but likable
RIP
RIP
I was just on another thread, the thread on the debate. I was responding to someone that had an issue with some of the dumb stuff posted here. I was defending FR saying that did not happen all that often. After reading your post maybe I was wrong.
I do not judge his eternal destination.
I pray that somehow, before he completed his last breath, he was graced with repentance and conversion to faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
While - by my memory - it was based on some weak evidence, I certainly hope and pray that was true, and he gets unified with our Creator off in His existence outside of time.
A very sad day indeed.
I kinda liked him in a way. He had some bad things to say about Bob Hope after he died but one thing I liked about him was that he was not one of these people who trashed christian religion but turned to jello when trashing other religions. I can respect that intellectual consistency. Alot of people out there will trash christianity but grow strangely silent when it comes to, for example, Islam. I remember he trashed the Bill Maher audience on his show. I thought that was great.
Sorry to hear that. Didn’t agree with his politics much, but I admired his integrity.
RIP.
Well, he isn’t an atheist anymore...
Strange that he never considered the possibility that his profound intellect had it basis in something other than himself or nothing at all.
His insights into the conditions of this world will be missed. His insights into the world to come.....not so much.
Christopher Hitchens was not impressed with Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis: He wrote:
“To describe [the thesis] as hard to read would be a mistake; the thesis cannot be ‘read’ at all, in the strict sense of the verb. This is because it wasn’t written in any known language.”
Brilliant writing.
