Dear Sarah Palin… Love, God [New attack: If Trig had been homosexual instead of Downs Syndrome]

Finally, Sarah Palin and I agree.

We both want people to accept and celebrate every child, even those who appear different… and we want them to act right with regard to those children. When she was told by doctors during her pregnancy that her unborn child had Down syndrome, she wrote a letter to her family and friends from God’s perspective.

She seems to have seen quite clearly that her son was not broken, he was made this way intentionally, and she clearly expresses the expectation that he will be celebrated for being exactly who he is. I think this letter was a bold first move in what promises to be a lifetime of advocating for her beloved child.

I wonder how the letter would have read if doctors had instead informed her that her son was gay.

I can’t say that I’ve ever had the impulse or clarity to deliver a written message directly from my Higher Power but the idea of it moved me and I’ve taken the liberty of adapting Palin’s letter (quite minimally, as you can see) to explore the possibility.

To the Friends, Family, Fellow Human Beings, and Elected Officials of this unborn child:

I am blessing you with this surprise baby because I only want the best for you. I’ve heard your prayers that this baby will be happy and healthy, and I’ve answered them because I only want the best for you!

I heard your heart when you hinted that another boy would fit best in the country, to round it out and complete your American family. Though another girl would be so nice, you didn’t think you could ask for what you REALLY wanted, but I knew, so I gave you a boy because I only want the best for you!

Then, I put the idea in your hearts that his name should be “Sam,” because it’s so fitting, with its meaning: “His name is God.” You also have an uncle with that name, so I knew it would be best for you!

Then, I let Sam’s mom have an exceptionally comfortable pregnancy so she could enjoy every minute of it, and I even seemed to rush it along so she could wait until near the end to surprise you with the news – that way you wouldn’t have so long to wait and count down so many days – just like Christmas time when you have to wait, impatiently, for that special day to finally open your gift? (Or the way the you look forward to birthday celebrations that go on for three, four days… you all really like cake.) I know you, I knew you’d be better off with just a short time to wait!

Then, finally, I let Sam’s mom and dad find out before he was born that this little boy will truly be a GIFT.

They were told in early tests that Sam may provide more challenges, and more joy, than what they ever may have imagined or ever asked for. At first the news seemed unreal and sad and confusing. But I gave Sam’s mom and dad lots of time to think about it because they needed lots of time to understand that everything will be OK, in fact, everything will be great, because I only want the best for you!

I’ve given Sam’s mom and dad peace and joy as they wait to meet their new son. I gave them a happy anticipation because they asked me for that. I’ll give all of you the same happy anticipation and strength to deal with Sam’s differences, but I won’t impose on you…

I just need to know you want to receive my offer to be with all of you and help you everyday to make Sam’s life a great one.

This new person in your life can help everyone put things in perspective and bind us together and get everyone focused on what really matters.

The baby will expand your world and let you see and feel things you haven’t experienced yet. He’ll show you what “true, brave victory” really means as those who love him will think less about self and focus less on what the world tells you is “normal” or “perfect.” You will grow and be blessed with greater understanding that will be born along with Sam.

Sam will be your little buddy and he’ll wear whatever feels right to him while he learns to tinker in the garage, or perhaps the kitchen. He’ll love to be read to, he will want play sports, and he’ll steal your heart just like all of the beautiful babies who came before him. And Sam will be the cuddly, innocent, mischievous, loving little American child that this world has been waiting for…in fact Sam will – in some subtle ways – always be a unique child because I created him a bit different than a lot of babies born into this world today.

Every child is created special, with awesome purpose and amazing potential. Children are the most precious and promising ingredient in this mixed up world you live in down there on earth. Sam is no different, except he will later be attracted to boys instead of girls. We call it “being gay,” and gay kids have a different sexual or relational orientation than other kids, but can bring you much delight and more love than you can ever imagine! Just wait and see, let me prove this, because I only want the best for you!

Some of the rest of the world may not want him, but take comfort in that because the world will not compete for him. Take care of him and he will always be yours!

Sam’s mom and dad don’t want people to focus on the baby’s differences. They’re human, so they haven’t known how to explain this to people who are so caring and are interested in this new, little American. His parents want people to share in the joy of this gift I’m giving to his family, and the greater American family.

Many people won’t understand… and I understand that. Some will think Sam should not be allowed to be born because they fear a gay child won’t be considered “perfect” in your world. (But tell me, what do you earthlings consider “perfect” or even “normal” anyway? Have you peeked down any grocery store isle, or school hallway, or into your office lunchroom lately? Or considered the odd celebrities you celebrate as “perfect” on t.v.? Have you noticed I make ‘em all shapes and sizes? Believe me, there is no “perfect”!)

Many people will express sympathy, but you don’t want or need that, because Sam will be a joy. You will have to trust me on this.

I know it will take time to grasp this and come to accept that I only want the best for you, and I only give my best. Remember though: “My ways are not your ways, my thoughts are not your thoughts… for as the heavens are higher than the earth, my ways are higher than yours!”

I wrote that all down for you in the Good Book! Look it up! You claim that you believe me – now it’s time to live out that belief!

Please look to me as this new challenge and chapter of life unfolds in front of you. I promise to equip you. I won’t give you anything you can’t handle. I am answering your prayers. Sam can’t wait to meet you. I’m giving you ONLY THE BEST!

Love,

Sam’s Creator, Your Heavenly Father

_____

We are a remarkably diverse nation of people. Sarah Palin and her ilk are doing great harm with their exclusive policies and campaign promises, all hidden behind the vicious delusions that LGBT people are broken. We are not.

For the love of this great nation, please wake up and read a little research. We are all born this way. We deserve to be loved, accepted, celebrated… and supported for being the marvelous creatures we were created to be.

Exactly. As a conservative, I can be against homosexuality, but that doesn’t mean I hate the individual.

Many people (including homosexuals, liberals and even conservatives) cannot get their head around that. To them, condemnation of their actions gets personalized.

This is not to say I can be against the individual as well. I can be, and often am due to the nature of that person’s actions, especially when it comes to the advocacy of their beliefs.

I believe that liberalism is wrong and innately evil, and that those who devote their lives to pushing it on others are deserving of our malediction. This is self preservation, not the impulse to blindly hate.

” To them, condemnation of their actions gets personalized.”

They’ve turned a behavior and made it an “identity”.

The sex act they engage in becomes who they are, and then a culture has been developed around it.

If you don’t like the behavior - if you argue against it - then it is personal to them. They think you are attacking everything they hold dear.

Trig did not choose to be born with Downs Syndrome.
If he chose to become a homosexual you might love your child but hate his choice.......

This is exactly right and is the reason why their choice is prerequisite of their introduction to new people. Have you ever introduced yourself to someone and stated you were heterosexual? I can't say that my heterosexuality has forced me to speak abnormally or gesture abnormally, either. It's a psychotic farce.

The article’s writer is equating homosexuality with a birth defect, which should go over real well with her intended audience.

Dope.

And the funny thing is - while they are very sensitive about any questioning of their behavior - don’t think for a second that they are all love and acceptance about “straights”.

There is alot of accusations of “hatred” and “bigotry” being bandied about - yet they seem to hold great resentment and hatred towards all things traditional.

. . . accusing Sarah Palin of hypocrisy . . .

The one thing any objective person would recognize is that Sarah is not a hypocrite.

Governor Palin was pro-life when she had four wonderful, healthy, perfect, and adorable children. She was pro-life when she was told that her fifth child would have Down's. She was pro-life when her teenage daughter became pregnant. She is pro-life, and her values do not change simply for personal convenience.

Governor Palin was pro-military when she posed for photo ops with the Alaska National Guard. Sarah was pro-military when she insisted that she be notified of military funerals in the state so she could attend. Sarah was pro-military when she sent her oldest son off to Iraq in the United States Army. Sarah is patriotic, and her love for America is not a part-time act.

The far left fringe doesn't object to Sarah because they think she's a hypocrite; just the opposite. Their real objection is that she means everything she says, and sincerity scares them. That's why they like Mitt so much and want us to choose him over Sarah - he never leaves them feeling like he means what he says.

This article has the meme that being a queer is not their fault, it can't be a sin, because they are born that way.

There is a magic queer gene, that makes them special and not sinful.

Shoving a broomstick, cuke, or carrot up my same sex lover's orifice is natural and not abnormal and I want to belong to your church to prove that I'm not different.

You’re right. Much like the civil rights struggle for “equality” has now turned into outright discrimination of whites by blacks, I fully expect gays to one day demand that marriage be the legal definition that only applies to them.

By rejecting God as the perfect creator and his admonition that homosexual behavior is an abomination, allows them to practice their lifestyle of choice without guilt.

This sentence has no subject (what allows them??? There should be at least a pronoun.), so one has to be inferred to answer it. So I do so in order to respond.

Their rejection of God does not allow them to practice their lifestyle without guilt. The self-knowledge of their own guilt is manifested by their rage against non-homosexuals, against the society that surrounds them and its norms, and by their constant efforts to corrupt and destroy that society and those not burdened by the flaw they themselves carry. No matter what they do, what they demand, they will find themselves no better off, no happier in any replacement society.

The funny thing is, if there really IS a gay gene, and people CHOOSE to abort based on that gene, they’ll be the first ones crying to repeal Roe v. Wade!

In the end, except as a weapon to destroy a society they despise, what interest do gays (of either sex) have in Roe v. Wade anyway? When the weapon stops suiting their purpose gays will drop it to the ground.

Is there anything they won't stoop to to go after this fine, Christian woman?

That's a rhetorical question, right?

they might be nice enough to let us get married - but pretty soon they are going to bring the battle into the schools.

If I teach my child one thing at home about marriage - and the new definition is being taught at school - guess who is going to get a visit from the social workers?
Guess who’s child is going to be told “well...mommy is a closed minded bigot and doesn’t know what she’s talking about”

The churches will get sued for refusing to perform ceremonies.
Religious adoption agencies will be sued for placing children in traditional families.

this article is a new spin on an old joke.

I remember hearing a gay comic on TV years ago say something like...”ya wanna convince a bunch of jesus freaks to become pro-choice? Discover the gay gene and tell them their baby is gay!”

They think that christians would rather have them dead - and when whackos like the Fred Phelps gang do their thing, it helps support this misconception.

And so...I’m sure the author of this article is doing a wink and a nod to the gay community - they think that Sarah would absolutely have aborted that boy if she were told he was gay rather than Down’s! That’s how hateful and bigoted christians are afterall!
So the author is mocking Sarah - pretending she never would have written a love filled letter towards a gay son.

The fact is that there is no doctor or scientist who can predict the future sexual thoughts or behavior of any new born child. There is no scientific or medical test for homosexuality because it is a behavior and not an innate trait such as race or a known born medical condition.

If liberals such as this writer are not hypocrites themselves, then by the standards they accuse others of, I guess they will love and support all people based upon their behaviors; pedophiles, rapists, murderers, thieves, etc….. ???

And before anyone answers I already know that to some extent they already do, they support murder (abortion) and they have been known to support murderers like Stanley ‘Tookie’ Williams, they also support thieves in the name of wealth redistribution, the list goes on.

One of the most glaring defects in his argument is that if the parents of a downs syndrome baby could, they would completely reverse and obliterate this disease in their child. Even if not, they don't "embrace" the disease, but do everything in their power to mitigate it.

The same could be said of homosexuality, given the false premise that it is an inborn disease.

Just because science has not discovered a genetic basis for homosexuality does not mean the premise is flawed. You would presume that genetic science on this and other cause-and-effects is settled and complete? It is not.

I believe in our lifetime, science will find a biological basis for homsexuality. (Although there may also be cases caused by behavioral conditioning and sexual abuse, even personal choice, etc)

Those of us who have had homosexuality “run in the family”, or know other families where it runs from generation to generation, sometimes for many generations dating back a century or more (known), know that something is inherited or passed along .... whether is a gene or a brain chemistry or brain structural abnormality, a predisposition. Ditto with inherited depression, bipolarity, schizophrenia, other conditions that originate from the brain.

And that it manifests at a very early age.

I also believe homosexual activists may not want science to discover this because it could lead to pre-birth extermination, as is happening with Downs babies.
