Here is the why Romney will be the republican nominee and why Perry or Cain or Bachmann will not save the republicans. Romney is moving left on global warming and staying the course on Romneycare and you will see him take his natural left positions on other issues as the campaign gets underway. His goal is to attract as many democrat voters into the republican open primaries as possible to vote for him. Meanwhile , Bachmann has been brought into the race by the establishment as well as Cain who has no idea. Perry is coming in too. This is to split the Tea Party and conservative vote allowing Romney to win with whatever republican votes he gets plus the democrat crossovers as the democrats will not have a primary race with Obama running unopposed.
I believe Sarah Palin knows this. I think Palin also believes the republican party is worthless. Like us , she has watched them sell out once they got the House back as the current leadership is from the same group of republicans who passed big government and huge deficits under Bush and voted for TARP and bailouts. Boehner and Cantor was there for it all. Just the other night Palin said she was watching and hoping she didn't have to go rogue on them.
The big debate has been , is Palin running? She seems to be and at the same time , doesn't seem to be. I think she is running for President but not for the republican nomination. I think she will send shock waves through the political establishment when she does announce that she is running as an Independant , going rogue. That is why she is in no hurry to announce and can wait pass the filing deadlines for republican primaries. Organizing4Palin is in 50 states , she has enough people to get on the ballot in all 50 states. The bus tours , the movie Undefeated is part of a general election strategy instead of a republican primary strategy. Her famous speech in Wisconsin was as much against republicans as it was against democrats.
Please don't bombart this thread with , no third party posts and how it will hand Obama another term. That is just plain false. Obama has sunk so low that his campaign is hopeless. Imagine the state of the race if Romney is the nominee. If you think people sat out because of McCain , you have not seen anything yet. The middle between Obama and Romney will be wide open and a conservative candidate could beat them both easily. Perot lead Clinton and Bush in 92 before he dropped out and got back in again.
“This is crazy talk and if Palin would even think of this, she is no patriot—she is a traitor and deserves NO respect, yet alone a vote.”
Why would that be? If the republicans decide to let Obama run unopposed (by nominating Mitt), why should she not run?
I think if she felt she would be needed she would serve. I think you are OVER-thinking everything.
"Politics isn't just a game of clashing parties and competing interests. The right reason is to challenge the status quo, to serve the common good, and to leave this nation better than we found it. People know something has gone terribly wrong with our government and it has gotten so far off track. But people also know that there is nothing wrong in America that a good old-fashioned election can't fix. We don't need to fundamentally transform America. We need to restore America." Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin is shaking the Democratic leftist-liberal house to its very foundation.
She, her family, their faith, their values, and their story (particularly of choosing life for their young son and then so obviously being blessed with love for that son and he for them) represent the absolute refutation of all the tired old liberal mantras and victimology and a culture of death that they malignantly use to mentally, psychologically, and financially enslave whole classes of people.
From women's rights, to family values, to gun rights, to abortion, to energy policy, to taxation, to envrionmentalism, to fundamental governing principal, to U.S. soveriegnty and independence, and on and on...Sarah Palin is a wrecking ball to the leftist, liberal, socialist house of cards.
? ...and the leftists, DNC, liberals, MSM, and RINOs all know it, and that's why they rant and rave on and on about her and will do anything to keep her out of this race.
Ditto...I can’t think of ANY circumstances under which I’d actually cast a vote for Obama.

Fortunately, there is no evidence she is planning to do that.
Unlike other Freepers, I have no concrete idea of what Sarah Palin will do. However, I’m confident that she’ll (a) do what’s best for her country and, (b) not what anyone expects based on ‘conventional wisdom’. The nonsense often bandied about these forums that Sarah Palin is, in effect, ‘only in it for the money’ is one of the left’s PDS talking points and unworthy of a conservative forum. The Palin-as-kingmaker concept is also flawed when one looks at her record, which is hardly that of a manipulating power-driven pol. Again, aside from the trolls, too many liberal talking points are used against Sarah Palin by folks who should know better. Sarah Palin is no ordinary politician because, at heart, she really isn’t a politician and she certainly isn’t ordinary. She’ll do something unexpected and I doubt running as an ‘independent’ is it.

Some of those running could almost bring the advance to a halt but the only one that can turn the ship of state around and drive away from the cliff is Sarah Palin. That fact terrifies the progressives. They know that a win by Palin is the death knell for the progressive agenda world wide. The progressives have known, with certainty, that their world wide Utopia can not be attained as long as the United States and its Constitution exists, for decades.
The progressives now own the entire Democrat party and half of the Republican party. They will stop at nothing in the coming election, November 2012. They will cheat openly because a loss means the end of their agenda and a win means their fraud will never be investigated.
Wake up patriots, do not let the progressives turn us and our children into slaves.
I prefer rubbing alcohol, plus it cools the inflamation.

The kerosene was to PREVENT bites (no self-respecting bug could stand it)! Mine used to paint our bare feet in the mornings before we went out to play in the yard to ward off hook worm and round worm larvae found in moist South Fla environs back in the day...

Something else missing in this scenario is Trump. He may still want to bully his way around. That would leave Obama 40%, Palin 25%, Romney whatever, and Trump around 5%. Obama still wins. The Dem will get 35%-40% if he/she was a yellow dog. The other thinking people will make choices as they see fit. Trump will get votes just because he's a loud mouth. I think Palin would draw more than Romney, but Romney will still get the NE liberal RINO vote. They still want Guliani to run even though he can't get a single vote below the Mason-Dixon line. If Romney could come up with some pics in drag, he could get the rest of the RINO vote. Maybe Weiner will run as a Republican.
If Romney gets the R nomination, I will write in someone else.
If zero wins, so be it.
I will NEVER vote for a RINO again.
Chigrous-Americans?
Actually, the accepted scientific term is, Chigroid.
