[Vanity] Stop the Herman Cain for President nonsense
EEE | 17 MAY 2011 | EEE

Posted on 05/16/2011 11:33:00 AM PDT by Extremely Extreme Extremist

I'd never thought I'd see the day when conservatives fully embrace affirmative action. The myopic and destructive support for Cain for President is TOTALLY based on the simple fact that he's an articulate black man and self-made businessman, so conservatives can say, "See! See! We're not racists, we love black guys too!" But so was bland boring white guy John Cox, a businessman who ran for President in 2008, also without having zero experience in elective office. So where was the support for him?

Please spare me the inevitable BS about how you'd rather support a businessman (or use the old pick names out of the telephone analogy) than "career politicians." I am not talking about lifelong bureaucrats serving in departments or agencies, I am clearly talking about elective office. Herman Cain has ZIPPO, NADA, ZERO experience in public office and the simple fact of the matter is that in the modern political era, the American people has overwhelmingly looked to state executives (Governors), retired or military Commanders, or Senators who still had some lower-level executive or business experience for President.

Now, if Cain would have won his Senate race in 2004 or at least had been Mayor of Atlanta and then won a Congressional seat and then ran for the Presidency, then this vanity post would be moot and I would be a likely supporter (although his age would have been an issue). I have no problems with Herman Cain, I admire his background, his intelligence, his business acumen, but right now to support him for the Presidency would be a huge mistake.

Number of factors why Cain shouldn't run and he if does, he shouldn't be supported:

AGE: Herman Cain is 65 years old. The GOP has a stable of younger, more dynamic stars on the rise that refutes the narrative that they're not the same-old party of old guys. It's time for a new generation of leaders, and Cain was needed 10 years ago.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: No businessman, Congresscritter, and only 2 Senators in the modern era have ever won the White House. It is EXTREMELY (no pun intended) difficult for a businessman off the streets to run for President because the perception is that the American people have always supported someone who at least won elective office first. Herman Cain has never held elective office and that makes him a non-starter.

MEDIA SPOTLIGHT: Look, let's get serious folks. Herman Cain is not photo-genic, and you know what I mean. The liberal media and entertainment industry will reduce him to a caricature and completely ignore the issues, all the while spotlighting the youthfulness of Obama.

Herman Cain is not electable folks. That's not to say he doesn't have a role in the election. He should surely be a spokesman for the GOP or serve on some type of conservative outreach panel talking to inner-city blacks about how destructive liberal policies are, or he should have even been GOP Chairman instead of the disastrous Steele. All Cain will do is split the conservative vote and we get another RINO for the GOP nominee.

Yep, quitter...two times. You don’t have to like it but that’s the fact, jack, and typing anonymous insults won’t change it.

Why didn’t you just title the vanity: I love Palin? It took 39 posts to get to the meaning.

Using your analogy, there is not one CEO of any manufacturing facility that should be in his/her position. After all, if they don't know how to repair the hydraulics on a 20 ton stamping press they don't deserve their position..........

The success of any president, ceo or manager is not what THEY know but rather the intelligence of the team they surround themselves with.........And their own ability to make the necessary decisions based on the advice given to them by their "TEAM".....

Based on what I know now, there aren't any attractive GOP candidates who were perpetual losers in the last three primaries and so I'm not about to throw my money at a losing horse.............

It's time for some new faces and Cain is one of them.........

I dub thee Pothole for your shallow, mindless attempt at contributing to this forum. And will refer to you as such anytime I feel compelled to reduce my IQ by around 30 points and engage you on your level in childish political discourse.

LONG LIVE POTHOLE!!!

I love how he used the affirmative action analogy regarding a man who has made it on his own merit. Pathetic.

I KNOW how the liberal establishment operates .....you don't think the same would be done to Cain?

Since you KNOW how the liberal establishment operates then you should KNOW that it doesn't matter a hill of beans who runs, they will all be attacked.

But here's a bit of advice for you, beware of the MSM "Maverick McCain" syndrome.......

Bottom line he'll fold like a cheap suit because the Presidency is not like a CEO.

Buddy, give us some substantive facts to support your statement, ok?

Of course, that’s so much easier than dealing with the facts.

FReepers are supporting him simply because he's black, period.

You know, it's funny how we always accuse the libtards of using the same argument....."Because he's black...yada, yada, yada"

I always thought conservatives were above color..........I guess I was wrong.

And your post makes sense only if you direct it at an individual. You are blanket accusing any white, who would vote for Cain, of being an idiot.

Congratulations! God must be jealous of your critical thinking abilities.

Oh for crying out loud!... it would be better you not be so politically sensitive, Liberals pull that “crap” all the time, not buying into your political correctiveness speech. Further there will surely be far more heated discussions on these threads then my simple comment...sheesh!

I am simply stating that if you think an inexperienced individual can step into the Presendential Office of this nation today, in the same way that it was possible years ago when they did just that, then again you do not have an understanding of where our country is now....and yes your head would not be quite in the right place, just as I stated before.

Apparently you’ve not been in debates on FR or heated discussions with that degree of sensitivity.

EEE Doesn’t care if Cain is heard, he’s not listening to anything he has to say. What EEE wants is for all of US on FR to stop talking about Cain, so that his love Sarah has a wide field. The problem is that Sarah has not declared and, as far as I am concerned, has no stated intention of running for POTUS in 2012. IF she decides to enter the race, then and ONLY then will I consider her as a viable candidate. I would hate to be EEE if Sarah decides NOT to run. Then who will EEE support? Back to the 71 year old RP I suppose. Shameless hypocrisy.

I never heard of John Cox either until EEE tried to use lack of conservative support for him as a straw man against supporting Cain. What bunk!

I have previously asked EEE to STOP calling all the fine folks who are ON THE SAME SIDE as he is ‘racist’, but yet he continues to do so in a Vanity post to boot. If only FR had a ‘block’ function. Despite my color blindness, it turns out I am a ‘racist’ in 2008, according to the left, for not supporting Obama, and a ‘racist’ in 2011, according to EEE and a few of his minions for my willingness to discuss Cain. What will divide the conservative vote in 2012 is this myopic view. EEE is not seeing the forest, only trees.

You know nothing of the man and even less of his experience.

He confronted Clinton in 1992 and politely disemboweled his ClintonCare numbers.

“Cain only understands, by experience, from a small businemans experience which is simply not even close.”

Let me see if I understand your point:

I like Cain. I don't give a crap about his color or his alleged electability.

He's right on the issues and his non-political background is an enormous benefit for me.

If a majority of people want another career politician claiming he can fix things, then they'll vote for another career politician. I can't fix their stupid.

Now I really do like ‘Allen West’ and am anxious to see how far he will go. He has many times said he is not ready for the Big Office, and he’s not. I am very glad he’s where he is and so is he.

Smart man who understands there are some places you don’t just dive in head first....you’ll only knock yourself out.

But I have to say when people bring up “color” that stinks from the sewer IMO. It only needs to be said “Once” to turn my stomach and tells me they have yet to move beyond that themselves. We have the freedom to not like or disagree with any candidate without the skin color being brought up...and it shouldn’t. Obama’s people do that far too often...I think they want it to be an issue.

Although there may be some who think along these lines, I do not agree most do who support Cain...anymore than they supported West...who by the way is an outstanding representative IMO. Heck there are people who voted for Clinton because he was good looking in their eyes. There is that bunch of airheads and unfortunately we have to endure them.

YOU are the racist. You must denigrate him BECAUSE he’s black, for if he wasn’t, your post would be pointless.

Nobody supported John Cox in 2008 and he was an outsider and businessman. So why the support for Cain?

I like Cain but he's going to split the conservative vote and hand the nomination over to a RINO. I put the country first, do you?
