A curious thing happened in the Supreme Court budget hearing yesterday. Rep. Joe Serrano went on a long monologue about 'diversity' in the court and even said he would be glad when the day came, that a Puerto Rican could be president...to which Thomas replied that the court was avoiding that question. Nervous laughter ensues and the topic is quickly dropped. I'd like to know what my fellow FReepers think of the exchange.
It happens around the 1:13-1:14:10 mark in the video. It would be great if someone could isolate that exchange and put it on YouTube so everyone could hear it without sitting through the entire hearing.
The question was whether anyone had ever seen or actually located Stanley Ann’s birth record in Kansas. Do we know if it has ever been located or what the excuse/reasons for it not being on record are? Far from a distraction, I would think it highly relevant if she wasn’t born in the US either. That would mean that no matter which constitutional argument someone tried to make.....Obama is not eligible any way you slice it.
Another possible reason that no-one in ‘power’ would touch this thing, is fear of a market collapse. I am with you though...no matter the consequences..this issue should be discussed and ultimately decided...NO MATTER WHAT!
Obama should be made to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is eligible to serve as President by releasing his long form BC. His father’s status making him ineligible should also be decided by the Supremes imho.
Yea, repeat the same mistake. Puerto Rico is NOT a part of the United States.
Not born on US soil, you are not an NBC. Not Born on US soil to TWO AMERICAN parents, not an NBC.
Obama is not an NBC because he he was born British as well thanks to his father.
The cretin should be in prison.
I believe that the Supremes and other powers that be, either KNOW or suspect that he is not a natural born citizen. If the evidence in the case supported Zero’s position, it would already have been tried amidst great pomp and circumstance.
As for civil unrest or even CWII (as is occasionally tossed around on FR) I surmise that the major battlegrounds (and casualties) would be in the (liberal) cities, and if the result is a culling of the herd, so be it. It could end up being beneficial and result in a positive change in the demographics.
And I say that as a resident of the largest, bluest city.
So I say, bring it on. This slow boil in the pot of Reichstag water is not the best course of action for us.
“I believe that the Supremes and other powers that be, either KNOW or suspect that he is not a natural born citizen. If the evidence in the case supported Zeros position, it would already have been tried amidst great pomp and circumstance.”
Excellent point. What I don’t understand is the media’s near universal complicity in the whole thing. It goes way beyond just the typical OBOT bias. Even many in the media that are on ‘our side’, don’t want to open this pandora’s box.
Thank you.
There are very few who publicly proclaim his (alleged) illegal status. Quinn and Rose do, and Jim Quinn has exhibited great moral courage by staying true to his convictions and going public with the assertion that Ozero is a usurper.
So it CAN be done. He’s still on the air.
As for most of the rest of the MSM- it has truly become the treasonous Fifth Column.
When do classes begin...how to find things like this? How did you find it?
“how to find things like this?”
A habit of dozing off while listening to cspan late at night helps. I know...I need to get a life...ROTFLOL!
I find myself wanting to watch WTH the commie dems are actually doing everyday in DC these days. I am not content to have the ‘news’ filtered through a corrupt press anymore. I’d rather hear what is coming out of their own mouths with my own ears.
Fear of losing their broadcasting license. Most of them make a TON of money and wouldn't want their livelihood stripped from them...Constitution be damned.
the liberal blogs are dismissing it...a common tactic they use..but they are rattled by Justice Thomas statement..
Justice Thomas appeared he wanted to say..You don’t have to be born in America to be president.
Justice Thomas appeared he wanted to say..You don’t have to be born in America to be president.
Hunh?
This is true. However, a Puerto Rican candidate would have to move to the mainland, should he want to vote for himself.
What liberal blogs have brought this up? I’m curious.
Regardless...who cares what liberal blogs have to say? I sure as hell don’t....LOL!!
Dittos on LJ’s post...HUH?
I don’t think for a minute that Thomas believes that someone doesn’t have to be born here to be president.
.Justice Thomas is scolding congress...indirectly..I do not mean Thomas thinks you do not have to be born in the US to be president.
there is a site clearly run by Obamabots with access to historical information..

Yea, repeat the same mistake. Puerto Rico is NOT a part of the United States.
It is not a state, but is definitely part of the USA. I do believe anyone born a citizen there would pass the test with flying colors.
This is what I can't wrap my brain around. Yes, I understand the fears of rioting blacks and SEIU thugs on the rampage should something have been done early on, fears of violence, civil war, etc. etc. etc.
But what they don't get and apparently still don't get, is that their REFUSAL to hear these cases angers and frustrates people who want our constitution protected and that alone will lead to a civil war on the OTHER SIDE of the spectrum. Do they not see this or am I the only one that sees this????
Doing the wrong thing in their zeal to prevent a civil war is what will actually cause one!
What country is it a part of then? The people there are citizens, at birth. The people who were alive when we took the Island from Spain, were naturalized 'en mass', but all persons born thereafter were US Citizens, most of them the children of two US citizens. They have US passports, and not just as nationals.
What they are not is citizens of one of the several states, since PR is not a state. But then neither was Kansas when VP Charles Curtis was born in 1860, or Arizona when Barry Goldwater was born.
