I'm all for Ralph Nader running again. I'd love for Howard Dean to get fed up or some other Democrat to get fed up with Obama and I'd love for a third party of Democrats and liberals to establish itself. I want all kinds of liberals to line and up run in third parties. That's how we weaken their side. As for our side, the focus must be to take back the Republican Party. That's the way you win. You can draw attention to yourself by denouncing both parties at the same time, and you can think that you're relating to a whole lot of people or being disabused and forgotten about, but you do a grave disservice in doing so because you're never going to win anything. You're going to guarantee Democrat victory in perpetuity. We need a strong conservative movement that takes back the Republican Party and then we have a strong Republican Party. It's hard work but it is happening.
After reading a few of your posts, EV, I disagree. I don’t think you are a Reagan Republican. You are perhaps a Keyes Republican.
This is not consistent with what I heard him say. He went through all the past elections and how third parties steal the election from potentially rightful winners yet they only take a surprisingly small % of voters. So he might have said he supports a third party that will steal democratic votes but not for Republicans.
How’s Alan Keyes doing? Revving up for another run?
He’s trying to break 47,000 nationwide next time. Maybe hit 50 in NY, etc. He’s a force to be reckoned with just ask him or his group. But then all have to make a living doing something.
That's right. And I made that clear in my post as well.
Nominate and support conservatives in the GOP primaries, and work to get them elected in the general elections, for starters.
I’m not a Republican at all. I remain a republican, though, and will be until the day I die.
But I am a Reagan conservative, as I said before. First and foremost, that means I’m a personhood pro-lifer. Secondly, I believe in a foreign and defense policy of peace through strength. Thirdly, I believe that America is called to be a shining city on a hill, a true example to the world of the wonders of true liberty, under God.
Obama 69,456,897
McCain 59,934,814
Nader 736,804
Barr 524,524
Baldwin 196,461
McKinney 161,195
Keyes 47,768
You're not one to be questioning anyone, Hoefling.
Well, I’m doing that. We endorse candidates based on principle, not party label.
How do you like having the party’s money arrayed against you in that effort? How do you like having the party’s support disappear if your conservative actually overcomes that disadvantage and beats their RINOS in the primary?
Keye$ has 47,000 nationwide? Wow, what a voice! Maybe they holler to one another.
That was a product of a bunch of fed-up grassroots people putting him on the ballot, using their own resources, because your party’s choice was so detestable.
Barr 524,524
Baldwin 196,461
Would that be Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin?
Sorry, but this is the 0.5% of the time that Rush is simply wrong. The surest way to ensure the continued leftward drift of the GOP is to let them think they can rely on conservative votes no matter what.
Mark Levin has been on a tear about this too.
This is aimed at Glen Beck. He is for a third party.
You got it. That's why more and more of us have made a firm pledge to only support constitutionalist, personhood pro-life, moral conservative, Reaganites from now on.
"Rather than a third party, we can have a new first party made up of people who share our principles. I have said before that if a formal change in name proves desirable, then so be it. But tonight, for purpose of discussion, Im going to refer to it simply as the New Republican Party." -- Ronald Reagan 1977
I don’t like it. Taking back the party means we all do our part - getting conservative candidates but also, getting involved at the organizational level and minimizing (and ultimately eliminating) the influence of the rotten eggs in the GOP establishment.
Beck and OReilly think a VAT tax would be great.
What's going on here?
After how these conservative yappers ignored Obama’s natural born status,...Well...I don't exactly trust them any more.
