According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring. The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots. "Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously. Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report. Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week. In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup. The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance. As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett. |
So much for "he won't run." :)
Is it chilled well?
Strange. That's not what the National Review says.
He's just too liberal despite his cheerleaders trying to "moderate" him. His gun stance alone writes him off my books.
I find it highly amusing that because of Giuliani's stance on guns, people are blithely willing to hand over the power to blow up the world to Hillary, who, if anything, would be more aggressive on guns, as well as other things.
If Giuliani is nominated, I hope you won't be that insanely irresponsible.

McCain is going to be anointed and presented by the GOP as the Candidate just like GWB was. ...
W was liked by the suits. McCaine has backstabbed them.
Rudy has been collecting IOU's by doing tons of fundraising for the GOP.
When the time comes the long knives will be out for McCaine.
Rudy will pick up FLA...PA...and Ca. No red state will go Hillary. Rudy by 40 states.
RATS with fancy Madison Avenue labels are still RATS...
He does have baggage, but so does Hillary.
They weren't running; we didn't have any big races this past election.
As to Rudy, first, he believes the war is by far and away the greatest issue of this generation. Secondly, Rudy has a record and a reputation as a fighter and a winner.
As to Rudy's record as a winner, not only did he clean up NYC pronto, but, as a US Attorney, he had a record of 4,152 convictions with only 25 reversals. (Source: http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/rwg/html/bio.html)
Furthermore
...in the Mafia Commission Trial (February 25, 1985November 19, 1986), Giuliani indicted eleven organized crime figures, including the heads of New York's so-called "Five Families," under the RICO Act on charges including extortion, labor racketeering, and murder for hire. Time magazine called this "Case of Cases" possibly "the most significant assault on the infrastructure of organized crime since the high command of the Chicago Mafia was swept away in 1943," and quoted Giuliani's stated intention: "Our approach...is to wipe out the five families."
Ha!
Guns. Abortion. Government interference in the religious institution of marriage. Taxation. Bigger government.
It isn't just one issue. It's a flawed philosophy and a myopic view of Constitutional history. Fundamentally, Rudy is no better than any other liberal.
This is what I just do not understand; why not take what you CAN get rather than throw it ALL away with the Democrats. It just seems indefensibly stupid, IMO!
Rino Rudy has more bagage then American Tourister.
But conservatives aren't voting for Hillary, are they?
I see all this talk about values and then you want to put up Newt?
Not gonna happen.
Okay, you can make a case for Rudy if you'd like, but using an article from his full-time PR guy (DeRoy Murdoch) is not quite convincing.
DeRoy has been on his Presidential kneepads for Rudy for quite some time.
Those are your issues and you're STILL willing to hand this country over to the Democrats rather than compromise?
Insane.
Let's take this one at a time.
On abortion, he has supported Bush's judicial nominees, particularly those to the Supreme Court. I don't understand what your problem is in light of this - in the best case scenario, Roe vs. Wade will be overturned as it's quite possibly the most idiotic Supreme Court decision ever - the Constitution is silent on the issue, thus it's a states rights matter. Giuliani being pro-abortion, so long as he picks strict constructionists who agree with this approach, is irrelevant.
As for gay marriage, again, the Constitution is silent on the issue - thus the states are presently deciding it. I have heard nothing from Giuliani saying he would try and interfere with this. Bush fell down trying to get a Constitutional amendment on this issue. I don't see you ripping his guts out for that.
Taxes and bigger government - there I have no idea what you're talking about. He cut taxes and government in New York City - the only people who believe otherwise are those who are trying to sharpen their knives for him anyway.
If you seriously believe that Giuliani and Hillary are equivalent, I have to say, you're absolutely bonkers. Anyone who remembers 1998 and Impeachment knows she's pure concentrated evil. Giuliani may be misguided on some issues, but he's not that.

We could write letters to each other but I am afraid the forum would move forward rather slowly!
