The Candidate (Rudy Giuliani in NH)
The American Spectator ^ | 1/29/2007 | Philip Klein

Posted on 01/29/2007 1:36:27 PM PST by Dark Skies

Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.

Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.

"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

This has been fun! Have to get to bed so I can get up early to get everything ready for a Republican Executive Committee Meeting tomorow night to plan our County Convention. Been spending too much time on FR and haven't got my ducks in order! :)

PKM...Please be sure to print this chart out so that the rest of the Republicans in your district are fully informed on Giuliani's positions so that they can make educated decisions on whether to support him or not:

I'm going to get this thing done up right and printed. I'll be getting it distributed at every Republican district meeting in southeastern Arizona. It is unfortunate that I created AFTER the mandatory statewide GOP meeting on Saturday where a conservative Republican was elected state chairman over the establishment liberal Republican's candidate for the first time. But, I know someone on the state executive committee (good friend of mine, talk to him every day) and I'm in the new state chairman's political circle, so I know I can achieve maximum distribution. The printable, email form of the chart will be sent far and wide throughout the party. Better informed Republicans make better party workers and better voters. Don't you think?

Careful Jim, there are several around here who will be blaming you for the democrats gaining control of congress in the last election.

You will find more and more conservatives supporting Rudy and probably McCain because we know how dangerous 8 more years of a Clinton would be and how many hard left judges would be appointed.

As sad as it is to say, McCain and/or Rudy would probably appoint the same hard left judges as hillary would. On questions of abortion, gun rights, the homosexual agenda, and most other areas where liberals use the courts to achieve their goals that they know they can't win at the ballot box, McCain and Rudy and clinton are three peas in a pod. If you are basing your support for McCain or Rudy over clinton on the critical issue of judicial appointments then it doesn't make one whiff of a difference.

Just shameful. Get a clue knight man. If you look at all the posts the behavior is certainly indicative that membership in such an organization would be possible.

Thank you, Jim.

I can understand how some people might make a legitimate argument for Giuliani based on bald pragmatism.

But the conservatism-bashing that's been going on in some of these threads has gotten out of hand.

Thats funny I see it just the opposite, the Rudy posters get slammed with impunity, with the lame excuse that FREEREPUBLIC is a place to bash liberals(Spiff). All the Rudy posters are saying is that in there minds he is NOT a liberal.

The fact that this outrageous behavior is tolerated says all I need to know, and don't think 1000's of other freepers don't take notice.

So Jim I met you at the first freeper ball I FREEPED the Whitehouse , etc and etc, but because I see some rationality in a Rudy candidacy I am fair came to be ridiculed, mocked and not given the time to express an alternative view without being SPAMMED.

This is the best place on the WEB to discuss, discern, dissect, not only politics but science, culture, medicine and a myriad amount of subjects, the Rudy wars are likely to cause FR to lose a lot of its luster in the political website community. I believe the demographics of this site have changed greatly over the years I think it would be a disservice to all if the appeasement of the few ruins it for the majority. Just my view. Ultimately it is your site and you make the rules.

I am sitting at the keyboard waiting to be zotted! LOL!

You must have missed all the ridicule of conservatives and conservatism that has been going on in the threads.

And, as far as spamming goes, how many Giuliani threads have been posted in the past week?

Now, regarding just who is the majority here, I suggest you take a peek at the poll in the sidebar of the main forum page.
