The Candidate (Rudy Giuliani in NH)
The American Spectator ^ | 1/29/2007 | Philip Klein

Posted on 01/29/2007 1:36:27 PM PST by Dark Skies

Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.

Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.

"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

"You are counted among the enemy...you are an appeaser."

My gawd.

You are truly sick and deranged.

I have supported the WOT and the Iraq War without fail.

And you have the unmitigated GALL to say I AM AN APPEASER because I question your guy's suitability to be PRESIDENT?

Despite the fact that he pushed a CORRUPT CRONY to be head of DHS?

You are an utter embarassment to your cause.

Then you tell me "enoch frikken powell...who do you put forth to win this war?

And don't suggest PeeWee Herman...suggest someone who can win and will support the troops.

If you can't, you should end it tonite. Go away and never retuen.

If we don't win in 2008, we have betrayed the troops...prove that I am wrong.

Why we're on the subject of attribution I'm still waiting for you to produce the statement where Guiliani says he wants to return the abortion issue to the states.

"Then you tell me "enoch frikken powell...who do you put forth to win this war? "

Someone willing to fight it as one. None of the top three would do this, if Bush won't. We have a very long time to decide this. You want the Presidential election decided now.

"And don't suggest PeeWee Herman...suggest someone who can win and will support the troops."

Win what? What makes you think RUDY can do any of this or would even want to? What's more, even if he did, he'd destroy the country to "save it".

"If we don't win in 2008, we have betrayed the troops...prove that I am wrong."

Who is "we" here? Rudy supporters or conservatives? If you support someone who doesn't support the Constitution those troops took an oath to honor and defend, YOU have betrayed them. Rudy is no better than Hillary on the Constitution.

Thanks for your courage and fortitude.

I'm going to be off here for a few days, so good luck with these jackals.

There are already liberal websites. I suggest you push your guy on them.

Spiff should document his little boxes, and explain his terms. Several appear to be false, such as Rudy supports legalized gay marriage (I do, he doesn't), supports "amnesty" for illegal aliens (which needs to be defined), supports "confiscating" guns (which guns, all guns, some guns, when and where; one would think felons who have committed violent acts should not have guns), etc. The chart would be more effective, if it was sourced, and accurate, and defined terms, or avoided ambiguous terms.

By the way, I don't many care a hoot what the GOP platform said at some convention, which gets no press coverage these days, and is totally ignored, and is a creation of the nominee. Hot convention debates about party platforms are long gone. They are an anachronism.

Just trying to be helpful.

Our Rudy, who art in high heels,
Hallowed by thy name.
Thy coronation come,
thy will be done,
in our party as it's done
in the Dems'.

Giuliani is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He maketh me lie to the FReepers:
He leadeth me beside my liberal brothers.
He divideth my Party:
He leadeth me in the paths of willful ignorance for His
name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of "haters",
I will accept no truth; For Rudy art with me;
Rudy's campaign staff, they comfort me.
He preparest a table for me amongst deviants and abortionists;
He filleth my head with mud; My mouth runneth over.

Surely, liberalism and lies shall follow me all the days of my life,
and Rudy dwell in the House of White for eight years.

I've looked at Spiff's graph, and also very closely at Giuliani's record. Looks exactly on the mark to me.

They have one or two quibbles over the details.

And use that to discredit the entire chart.

Typical.

It might be to you, but facts can be inconvenient things, when indulging in hyperbole and demonization. I made specific comments, in any event.

Rudy is no better than Hillary on the Constitution.

That's for sure.

If you would actually bother to read the threads about Rudy Giuliani, instead of roaring onto them and posting junk, you would have seen it and the attribution. :-)

I can ping you to such posts, but don't do links, as you very well know.

It's inaccurate, you and others have posted it WITHOUT any attribution, at first, and you are now backpedaling as fast as you can, because you have been backed into a corner. You are a fraud and a joke, not to mention someone with delusions of grandeur.

I've not backpedaled at all. I created an accurate table depicting Giuliani's positions and posted in a post in a thread last night. It was MY name on that post. Therefore, the table was attributed to ME. No one has attributed it to anyone else. I've been backed into no corners and stand behind that information if you'd care to even look at it and discuss it rationally. I've defended the information in that table to everyone who has questioned it.

Man, that table must be really painful for you to look at. The truth does hurt.

It might be to you, but facts can be inconvenient things,

And quibbles can be used to try and pretend the overall larger truth is not the case.

Can you say with a straight face that Rudy has not been an ardent promoter of gay causes?

Yes, I have; as have others. :-)

And I've soundly defended each item that you and one or two others have attempted to challenge.

So Spiff - you seem so very unChristian - but still you did claim to be trying to be a savior. How do you feel you are doing so far in preventing abortion nation-wide and cracking down on the evil homosexuals?
